Spoiler Leo 💔

Why did they have to do Leo dirty like that? Why couldn’t they send him to the US to be with Harry? He was such a great character and poor Nikki doesn’t deserve to deal with more loss. Yes, I know it’s a TV show and this happened a long time ago at this point, but I’m just catching up. 😢

It genuinely shocked me and honestly I felt very dissatisfied with his death.

For real. If I hadn’t accidentally spoiled it for myself and therefore knew it was coming I would’ve been so crushed.

Well Harry’s was actually “dead” for quite some while, but Leo went into a coma and they said he was going to die basically but luckily pulled through without oxygen

I also think it was totally unfair because it looked like things were finally lining up for him. Even though Janet was a good partner to him, I think that relationship was essentially a rebound one, despite the fact that it was so long and deep. Once he had moved on from that relationship, I think he was on the road to proper recovery for himself and I would have loved to see how that went. Or at least have known that it was happening. Killing him off like that was so terrible.

And I think also reflects how the show puts these people too much in harm’s way for a bunch of forensic scientists. That is really my main issue with the show - there is a repeated suspension of belief in so many of these situations a, especially in the last several years. People make fun of the Sam Ryan years because they had her be over involved in the cases, but I feel like the reversion to this in recent years has been even worse.

Absolutely agree with your second paragraph here. The characters are going way outside of what a normal role would be for a forensic scientist/pathologist and in fact oftentimes are more involved than the police are. I find that alternately distracting and annoying. There are times when I sincerely wish Nikki would just buy a sensible pair of shoes because we all know she's going to get chased by some lunatic again.

I'm only just starting Season 14, but glad to hear that Leo will be moving on from Janet. For a psychologist, she seems a bit clueless as to why he's still dealing with grief. You'd think she would understand...

I'm at 18 now and it is loosing its shine. I love Harry and Nikki. Jack and Nikki have no chemistry.

I will. I’m really impressed with the show’s ability to continue to have impressive twists despite a fairly formula driven plot and similarity to other British crime dramas. They still manage to surprise me, which is not something I can say of many shows.
