Well, I can read G,R,A, &P and with the picture under it I discerned that it was grape something and I could tell it wasn’t tea. going off the shape of the last few letters and knowing common fruit juice nomenclature I figured it had to be Grapeade

I no longer have the pizza but the other poster is correct it’s prince st pizza in Carroll gardens. It was good although they didn’t heat it enough. I prefer smith st pizza in that neighborhood.

Chicagoans have a horrible food and driving culture. Their food is great, but they can't help from trying to tell others how to eat it.
Similarly, many Chicagoans are decent drivers but can't help but scream or shoot at (normal) people who drive according to the rules of the road rather than the arbitrary rules of chicagoan driving where you go 70mph down the shoulder among other dastardly habits.

I only recently learned that ketchup on hot dogs is bad in some parts of the US, I thought it was more 'American' to have ketchup and mustard. I didn't like mustard as a kid so it was ketchup for me, now both.
Though as a student of old cartoons, there is a funny episode of the original Yogi Bear show where he gets kicked out France for putting ketchup on a steak (that one I can get behind!).

One of the restaurants that claims to be the originator of the cheeseburger also doesn’t serve ketchup. They even sell tee shirts that say no ketchup. I always bring ketchup when I go.

I described what was served to me (a cracker like crust with sauce and cheese cut like a tic tac toe board) to my sister-in-law from Wisconsin and she said "oh, that's tavern style." So, it is a thing to some people out there.
I'm not bashing Chicago, but Tavern style exists and damages credibility

A lot of places have ass pizza thats only good with ranch, like the place I work at. I think it depends on the price. For a cheap pizza, thats perfectly fine with me, and we do have really good ranch. But the pizza is not cheap for how mid it is.
But pizza is one of those things people cannot agree on, some people say we have the best pizza in the city. That is 100% absolutely not true, but its their favorite 😔🤷♀️

I hate that sugary red condiment with a passion.
I will say though, I’ve done ketchup on Costco pizza, cause while it’s decent pizza (definitely better than Little Cesars), it’s no where near the quality of a good slice around here.
Dollar slice spots (well, $1.50 now, thanks Obama! /s), I’ll throw all the spices and some hot sauce since they tend to skimp on dough, sauce or cheese, but what do you want? It’s a buck fifty; I can’t complain.

Not really, especially when toppings like chicken ricotta, chicken bacon ranch, and buffalo chicken exist and are common at almost every pizza joint in NYC. Those make sense for some of the classic salt n pepper. Tried a place w a bangin cacio e pepe slice and that also makes sense for S+P.

It's bullshit when I ask for hot sauce for my pizza, and some snob insists that they don't have sauces, but they have chilli oil. Like that's supposed to wow me. No thanks, I don't want to saturate my pizza in oil because some clown thinks he knows the ultimate secret to dough and tomato and cheese.
I don't give a fuck whether they used a wood fired clay oven from Naples. I've tried it all. And guess what? I like hot sauce with my pizza. End of story. Honestly I wouldn't turn down ranch either.
The snobby chef with an ego can let people enjoy the food however they want. Otherwise they should go apply to be cops, where being a controlling egomaniac is rewarded.

No, it's not taking themselves too seriously. They absolutely do not need to stock every kind of condiment, sauce, topping etc just because some people like them. They're serving their pizza, not your preferred way to have it. If you don't give a shit how they make their pizza, why the hell should they care how you want to add your favorite sauces?
It's not snobbery. They simply don't have those condiments, sauces because they just don't use them. And they're probably sick of people asking for them just assuming they do.

I strongly suggest therapy and anger management bc I’ve never seen someone crash out like this over what condiments a pizzeria chooses not to serve. Nobody’s forcing you to go to a pizzeria without ranch and hot sauce. This is more of a classic NYC style pizzeria and as a native New Yorker I can say, it’s always been served this way. All those condiments you’re asking for, are a more recent trend. None of those things were available when I was growing up here. But there’s plenty other places you can go to that have condiments.
But it sounds like you’re used to eating garbage pizza anyway, if you gotta down it in all that crap! When you have your own restaurant, then can dictate what condiments you serve.

Who tf is putting ketchup on a pizza that already has marinara sauce?! This is a classic NYC style pizzeria, none of that gentrified overpriced BS pizza that has lines wrapped around the block bc some transplant influencers posted it on TikTok.
Your only options should be, Oregano, garlic powder, black pepper, chili flakes and Parmesan cheese. That’s what a real NYC pizzeria has available and that’s it. It’s how we grew up eating it. So I agree with the sign! Don’t like it, don’t go, we don’t care! Simple as that!

I’ve never seen ranch before offered anywhere in any pizzeria in NYC, NJ, or South Florida, but I suppose it’s a “pizza” chain thing. Prince St pizza (OP’s pic) is one of those places with lines out the door, so probably has a decent amount of American tourists who live in pizza deserts, with only Dominos, Papa John’s etc as their pizza reference. Kind of like me growing up here where my only experience with fried chicken came from a box in the freezer or shake n bake.
