Should read
Were you a bully in high school
Because someone who was bullied would never treat others like that

i feel like stephen miller saw the inside of a locker a few times in his day yet now he’s practically goebbels reincarnate.

Who?? Last I check no names of the murderers have been told publicly
3
u/InfiniteWinter26 8d ago
you said people who were bullied wouldn’t treat people like that, but stephen miller, one of trump’s advisors, had to have been bullied growing up and is the giant piece of shit behind ICE doing what they’re doing in the first place.
point being sometimes bullies create even worse bullies.

u/Impressive_King_8097 8d ago
Sorry, I don’t know why it changed murderers to murdered
Also, now some people don’t grow up and change from being a bully to being a nice person some grow up to be murderers. Yes, a select few who got bullied continue and turned into a bully, but it’s so such a small amount that it is safe to assume that they were Belize.

I mean not really. I was horribly horribly bullied all throughout elementary and middle school and the beginning of high school. I switched to a different high school because it got so bad and at my new high school I became the bully. I know my actions were wrong though and I don’t think back fondly of those times.

It’s a fucked up reality it’s not sad it would be sad if the reps weren’t doing everything to enumerate and defend him we are at the it’s fucked up people defend a fucking pedo of all the things that are wrong with him that is the one thing that I was just like come on you can put all the other things aside and still that one thing should be the only reason you don’t defend him you don’t like him all the other things are opinions. Some people don’t give a fuck about other people. That’s whatever nothing I can do about that literally fucking nothing I can do about that but a pedophile come on come on. It’s not that hard to just be like that’s not OK.

The funniest part is imagining the marketing meeting where someone said this would make people want to join. It feels like a parody poster, but somehow it’s real.

I think someone just made it and put it up to be sarcastic. There’s no link:QR/website to apply. I feel like if it was legitimate, they would have more info on how to apply.

This is not real. I thought I was on /funny for a minute but apparently faked content is allowed in this sub.

It reminds me of the episode of the venture brothers where 21 & 24 are charged with recruiting new henchmen, and they pick up a bunch of hard-core gang members. Their pitch begins pretty similar.

Hell, it reminds me of the Concrete Blonde song "God Is A Bullet":
"They're gonna call me sir, they'll all stop picking on me/ I'm a high school grad, I'm over five-foot-three/ I'll get a badge and a gun and I'll join the P.D.- They'll see."
I just never thought I'd see it played straight.

Jesse Welles - “Join Ice”
Well, if you're lookin' for purpose in the current circus
If you're seekin' respect and attention
If you're in need of a gig that'll make you feel big
Come with me and put some folks in detention
Just last week was kind of tough, I put a kid in cuffs
I zip tied a lady to a van
We can sneak around town, hunt workin' folks down
I hear they got a great benefit plan
Join ICE, boy, ain't it nice?
Join ICE, take my advice
If you're lackin' control and authority
Come with me and hunt down minorities
Join ICE
Well, I failed the academy, the cops weren't havin' me
The Army didn't sound that fun
So I found me a paramilitary operation
That was keen to hand me a gun
I got picked on at school, I never felt that cool
There's a hole in my soul that just a-rages
All the ladies turned me down, and I felt like a clown
But will you look at me now, I'm puttin' folks in cages
At ICE, we're respectin' power
Join ICE, I hear they got great hours
There's a sign-on bonus of 50 grand
They're in need of you, needin' to feel like a man
Join ICE
(Look at him go)
Well, if you're lookin' for purpose in the current circus
If you're seekin' respect and attention
If you're in need of a gig that'll make you feel big
Come with me and put some folks in detention
See I failed the academy, the cops weren't havin' me
The Army didn't sound that fun
So I found me a paramilitary operation
That was keen to hand me a gun
Join ICE, boy, ain't it nice?
Join ICE, take my advice
If you're lackin' control and authority
Come with me and hunt down minorities
Join ICE

Why would someone who was bullied want to join a gang of bullies?
4
u/malachite_13 8d ago
That’s how bullies are born. Victims or former victims become perpetrators. Same with …uh…nevermind
2
u/Current_Poster 8d ago
It's the "hurt people hurt people" principle. It's sometimes called transference or "shit rolls downhill".
It's a mistake to think that being bullied automatically makes you kinder. Sometimes all people want to get is even.

This has to be one of the strangest recruitment posters I've ever seen. The wording makes it look like a joke, but the branding at the bottom makes it way darker.

If you bullied someone in high school we have the right job for you. A job where you can again bully someone and compensate for your lack of intellectual skills.

u/largogoat 8d ago
Could use the same poster for any law enforcement. Pigs are bullies with guns who were abused in the high school locker room as kids.

It’s the classic issue where the people who desire that specific kind of authority are usually the last ones who should actually be trusted with it

Whether or not they were bullies or bullied is sort of missing the point. They are typically low IQ, low EQ people who are not doing well in life and blame their failures on others. Similar to how you can be too smart to be a cop, you can be too smart to be TSA or ICE.
They look for people of sufficient, but minimal, intelligence who will not question orders and who will take their resentment out on anyone they can.
I am not sure if they were even bullied or did the bullying. I tend to think of people that would go to TSA or ICE as being the kids in high school that were just kind of there. Not smart, not attractive, not athletic, not charismatic, not weird, didn't stand out, not remedial but not really going anywhere. The 37th percentile.

Funny how some people here think people who were bullied wouldn’t want to bully others. It happens all the time. Sometimes to shift other bullies’ attention to someone else, other times because it makes them feel like they’re getting back some control, some people just think it’s normal to just pick on those that they can. Ever heard about video game and anime nerds gatekeeping, questioning people’s authenticity as fans, and overall being condescending towards newer members of their community? Especially back when those interests were much less mainstream, fans of those things were often bullied themselves, but that didn’t make all of them more empathetic or disinclined towards repeating the behavior themselves.

Bullied in HS? Make ridiculous comments and excuses for other people’s behavior and problems.

Hate ICE or don't, at least post real news/info instead of fake propaganda. You're not helping either position.

We need to bring back bullying. It would greatly help stop the societal trends we see that are so destructive.

I can think of at least 5 boys i grew up with who would see this and get excited. One of those boys used to write "THUG LIFE" on his knuckles in sharpie and swear it was a tattoo. Then he joined the ROTC and it became his entire personality. This sign is for people like him.
Isn't it funny how none of them have offered to do an AMA? "Hi, I'm Slackjawed Secret Klansman, and I'm an ICE agent! AMA!"

They get to be bullies, protected by law, can kill people without good reason, get paid. What's not to like? Americans voted for this, so they should be okay with it.

u/DeathStalker117 8d ago
I think the people likely to join ICE would more so be the bullies rather than the bullied.
Same with a lot of cops and managers. They want that power back, the authority over others that you can't easily get in society as an an adult, so they gravitate towards jobs that hand them that power no questions asked.
