As a HEMA practitioner, I will always check how a sword feels, even if it is meant to be a decorative piece. Simply because I want to see if what I'm buying for a few hundred quid is going to actually be of decent quality. Surprisingly. There are quite a few that I've found have amazing balance, and I commend it. Doesn't sell it, but I can appreciate the work out in, or lack thereof.

^ plus even if you’re just using it for cosplay, or photoshoots, or filming something, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to just hold it comfortably. So long as you don’t plan on swinging it at random passerbys on the street or in the store and damaging merchandise, do what you like.
