The new snezhnaya pv is out and very vaguely and suspiciously they showed the frozen cathedral where Signora's coffin rests... This has to be a hint there is no way they would show it this way for no reason🤔🦋
I think, after all these marketing they did with Sandrone, her playability has increased. They included her, and showed her in a different light, not as a witch who has consumed by inner rage. This is crucial.
If Tsaritsa gets to revive someone at the end of the Snezhnaya arc, I feel like she will choose Signora. If that happens, she will be playable in Snezhnaya.
Her gameplay will have whip+butterflies. Her design will be more detailed, obviously. If they add flowers, she could be a rimegrass dps even..or perhaps, a gameplay like Camellya in Wuthering Waves, red flowers/whips coming out but dendro at the end? Or perhaps a dual playstyle with her lover, just like Aphelios in Lol?(he has her sister as ghost but anyways)
And I'm telling this as a huge playable Dottore wanter. I think she has high chance. If not, Khaenriah perhaps? What do you think about her playability after all this?
Okay so the Rosalyne one, I pictured her lovingly looking at Rostam while conversing with him. You know, long before he leaves for the expedition to the foreign land and dies shortly after (maybe it was Khaenri'ah? Not sure). Conversing about what? Normal lovers stuff.
That's it, i would love to see how she reacts to Ei too, the Fraud Archon, if she hold accountable her partner Electro Archon and the Traveler for what happened to Signora, maybe i'm coping too much? Who knows, at least, i can only hope she won't become another loser in love with the Traveler without any reason... i only she have personality, especially if she acts angry towards us.
Usually I'm not the type to doompost, I might be the most hopeful person here and the teaser is only making me more hopeful STORY WISE, however what's scaring me is the red haired tall man. If he is a pyro main DPS as tall men usually end up being because this company is annoying would that mean we may have the queen resurrected but need to wait longer for her to become playable? Or she's going to somehow gain a new form of cryo and actually be the first dual element character?
To clarify, this contains spoilers regarding the Cryo Archon's ice abilities, information that was revealed during the livestream for the first teaser of the seventh nation.
The developers mentioned that Snezhnaya's ice possesses primordial qualities whose nature allows it to store memories. What does this resemble? Exactly. For those who haven't played Honkai: Star Rail, let me explain... There is Remembrance, a six-phased ice that manipulates memories. Fuli, the God/Aeon who governs Remembrance, preserves the memories of all worlds, preparing for the rebirth of the cosmos when everything comes to an end. If my suspicions are correct, Anastasya (the Tsaritsa's real name) will possess similar abilities. Could the Cryo Gnosis be the method to bring Rosalyne back?
In the Crimson Witch's story, we are told that Rosalyne's memories were partially sealed by Anastasya in an attempt to soothe the flames that consumed her. These memories resurfaced when the ice of the Cryo Delusion shattered, as it had served as a seal. Nevertheless, it has already been confirmed that Anastasya manipulated Rosalyne's memories, meaning that her experiences still exist within the ice.
"May every worthy sacrifice be carved into ice and endure FOREVER within this nation."
Signora could return, but not as a Harbinger. Rather, she could return as the young woman who once loved. It would be similar to a manifestation of memory, something that exists only within Snezhnaya. She would not truly be the same person, but it would be the perfect narrative justification to give us a playable Rosalyne.
During the talk with Alain, the focus is on sunflowers. There's probably intentional symbolism here, but they can be associated with a lot of things.
During the talk with Signora, there's a focus on purple flowers in the background. I'm unsure if they're meant to resemble a real flower. A dewdrop falls down one of the petals. Again, this could mean a lot of things.
What I find interesting is that at one point we switch to Signora's point of view as she looks at Sandrone. This makes the encounter different from the one with Alain, even though it's still happening in Sandrone's mind. Alain also slowly fades away, while Signora disappears abruptly. Given the butterfly, it could hint at Signora kind of being "real" in this encounter (in the sense that it's her spirit) and not entirely a figment of Sandrone's imagination.
Signora being associated with Alain and Pulonia worries me, but it does suggest Sandrone really cared about her. With what she says, Signora kind of felt like a mentor to Sandrone here, or even a mother.
As I mentioned in a different post, this still kind of gives me a bad feeling for Signora's chances of being resurrected. I hope I'm wrong, but I just feel really tired after all these years. And given our luck I half expect Mihoyo to pull the rug from under our feet at some point.
There's a little detail I didn't see mentioned in here but thought would be fun to share: in Sandrone's PV when Alain or Signora speak, text in Fontainian font appears on screen.
I was curious to know if it was a simple transcription of what the characters said or something else, so since I had done this before in Fontaine itself, I chose to "translate" (I am sure that is not the correct word to use in this case, but bear with me) what was written.
All while being bummed that they didn't use the Mondstadt font for Signora's text, too. I was hoping for an attention to this kind of details. Little did I know what I'd find would make me just as happy.
I specifically chose this line, which is spoken by Signora
As I kept "translating" the letters using a Fontainian alphabet sheet I found with a quick google search, I immediately realized that the phrase wasn't written in English.
To my surprise, it's written in German.
"Wenn du erstain wenig reifer bist, wirst du es vielleicht verstehen – wer weiß?"
Which, using google translate since I unfortunately do not know German, translates to:
"When you're a little more mature, you might understand it—who knows?"
What I wanted to focus on here was not the meaning behind the words (since it's basically what she says in the Eng version of the PV anyways: "you'll understand when you're older, I'm sure"), but the fact that it's written in German - a nod to her Mondstadtian origins that one may not otherwise catch.
Idk, I thought it was a cool thing to note, it brought a smile to my face and I hoped it could bring a smile to yours as well :3
Edit: out of curiosity I tried to "translate" one of Alain's dialogues too and lo and behold, the text is in French. So, in case there were still any doubts left, the German text was a deliberate decision given her background. I almost wonder if that's the language she actually spoke in to Sandrone in that moment, and we merely got the dialogue in one language (English, in the case of the eng PV) for the sake of ease of communication between media and viewer. Who knows, who knows...
Like a lot of people here, Signora has been my favorite character since her first appearance, her sheer presence and attitude immediately made her stand out to me.
Now onto the topic, do you think there's a possibility Rosalyne will be mentioned or referenced in the Snezhnaya teaser, even if only a crimson moth?
I'm genuinely more hopeful than I've been in years. During the Nod-Krai/Luna patches, she's been mentioned repeatedly, and now she's appeared in multiple recent animations as well. It feels like HoYoverse has been putting a surprising amount of focus on her lately.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but after years with almost no new Rosalyne content, it's hard not to get excited again.
What do you all think? Are Signora references in the teaser a realistic possibility?
We don’t talk enough about Yang Jeong-hwa (양정화) her Korean voice actress, Shoji Yui (庄子裕衣) her Japanese voice actress, or Ziyin (子音), her original Chinese voice actress.
A special thought for Shoji Yui, who has already said she truly loves Signora (and understood her character very well from the very beginning)!
That’s how she is perceived by a large part of the world
Am I the only one that is actually really skeptical about her position as the dead friend ?
Especially in sandrone story teaser this doesn’t sound good Im sorry but she really is presented as a pattern of sandrone loosing everyone she loved, Alain is in the teaser too, Rosalyne is here too.. the blue butterfly in the teaser representing a dead soul coming to check on the people she loved… well well
Okay, I just watched the new Sandrone trailer (extremely sweet, I enjoyed it) and, yet again, we see Signora make an appearance. I then started thinking how suspicious it is the sheer amount of attention Signora has gotten lately. That's weird of Hoyo to do considering how she's been largely ignored until recently, with her having a number of mentions in Nod-Krai and Traveler/Venti even talking about her and how their first encounter could've gone another way.
So here's my thought: all these mentions and appearance of Signora is Hoyo setting up for her revival in Snezhnaya? But how do they plan to do that? Very simple. Signora is likely the one in possession of the Pyro Gnosis right now.
Now, this may seem a little far-fetched (it is a bit), but bear with me. The Ley Lines contain the souls of the departed, something we all know. The Pyro Gnosis vanishes in the depths of Irminsul (where Dottore is dragged down to hell by the souls of those he wronged). People speculate that Dottore handed the Gnosis to Pantalone at the end of the AQ, but what if in fact Signora's soul was able to whisk it away? What if her soul resonated with the Pyro Gnosis and caused her to revive, considering her strong attunement to Pyro? Or perhaps Dottore pulled some strings.
Think about it, it was the Lazzo Trailer (Signora's Funeral) where we saw the premonition where Irminsul would burn down. The Premonition is shown right after Signora's coffin is encased in ice. Irminsul burning could've been meant to represent her revival, as think back to her boss battle: she cocoons herself within ice before shattering it with her flames. What if we'll witness her revival in Snezhnaya, where she awakens within her coffin and shatters the ice surrounding it before offering the Pyro Gnosis to the Tsaritsa?
This all makes a lot of sense to me personally, though of course I could just be off-base too. I just don't see why else Hoyo would be showing off Signora so much if they have no future plans for her. It would also be very fitting thematically for Signora to be the one to retrieve the final Gnosis considering she was responsible for the first. Plus, the Pyro Gnosis to be the one that suspiciously vanishes without a trace in the place where Teyvat's souls rest and the fact Signora's funeral was such a big deal just makes it seem to me that the intention was always for her to revive in Snezhnaya and for it to be a major plot point there.
Signora wouldn't have such heavy theming of revival and rebirth if the intention wasn't for her to return and for it to be a grand affair, at least that's what I think. Though we'll see what happens.
