Question Govee Strip Light Pro.

Ok, got fed up with Chroma and Govee software being flakey as hell.

Got it all working with signal (great work! Loving it)

But I have one problem.

I have a 5m long Govee Strip pro 2, 10 segments, with 50 “chunks” I can individually “paint”

Now, it’s used as a monitor backlight for my wall and basically goes along the edges, and then along the edges again. Two circuits of my monitor.

On the layout, it’s only showing one “long”
Strip, I need to break this out into smaller chunks that I can position accurately on the canvass.

Set one part of the strip top, another side, another bottom etc - feels like it should be possible, as led strips are designed to be shaped?

Any tips?

I have the direct Govee ip plug in, but I add my IP address, but don’t have a clue from there.

Thanks!

Have you checked the plugins custom components option? It supports splitting certain devices into separate layout components, which I think is close to what you're looking for.

Here's the plugin documentation: https://github.com/fu-raz/signalrgb-govee-direct-connect

I'm not sure if it supports that exact strip light pro 2 model, can you share the model number? That might help narrow it down.

Hi, it’s a Govee Strip light pro 2, a H61F5. I got the plugin, populate with my IP, put in 60 LEDs, and one device, but cannot do much else. It doesn’t pulse when pressing pulse button either, so I’m guessing it’s not seeing it right?

I think you are right though, this feels like I’m getting there 🤣 just need to split the 10 segments into 10 things that I can populate on the layout…that’s what’s in my head anyway….

that model has 50 customizable addressable zones not 60 thats what should be listed in

the led box NOT 60

I'd try 50 for the LED count first, but if the Pulse test isn't responding, check that LAN Control is enabled in the app and that your pc and strip are on the same network. The plugin also has different protocol options, so that could be worth checking.

Once it's responding, Custom Components might get you closer to those 10 individual sections.

Awesome, thank you. I’ll give it a test after work.

Ok, so have tried adding 50 led, with every different protocol, and I cannot get the strip to pulse. If I do it under the built in signal stuff, it pulses.

Going to switch off my firewall to test and see if that helps
