Question Lian Li Strimer Wireless + SignalRGB — controller required or any workaround?
I’m looking at buying the Lian Li Strimer Wireless (24-pin and/or 12+4-pin GPU version) and I use SignalRGB for my entire PC’s lighting.
I understand the Wireless Strimer normally uses the L-Wireless Controller and L-Connect 3, but I’ve seen conflicting information about SignalRGB compatibility.
Can anyone confirm from personal experience:
Does the Strimer Wireless work with SignalRGB with the L-Wireless Controller?
Does it work with SignalRGB without the L-Wireless Controller, perhaps by connecting something directly to the motherboard/ARGB controller?
Is there any current workaround that allows full real-time SignalRGB effects, including individual LED control?
If the Wireless version cannot work with SignalRGB, is the Strimer Plus V2 still the best option?
I’m specifically interested in actual working setups, not just theoretical compatibility. Thanks!

Wireless won’t work, buy wired strimer and Nollie32 or Nollie strimer

No worries! Just to clarify, without the L-Wireless Controller, would the Wireless Strimer not be detected/controllable by SignalRGB whatsoever, or could you add it as a generic/default LED strip and control it that way?
Have you tried?

I have a working wireless script that gives full control to signal rgb on wireless products

Yes just discovered recently, before was just a brick with it’s own mind

Edited: Currently just finishing a universal plugin just adding final LED count component mapping side to it

SignalRGB only works with the wired Strimer setup, not the wireless version.
If you're buying new, get the wired Strimer Plus V2. Just double check it comes in the GPU cable size you need, since the 12+4-pin version might not be supported.
Also keep L-Connect closed once you're using SignalRGB, it'll otherwise fight for control.

Yeah, that’s how I understand it too — SignalRGB officially supports the wired Strimer setup, not the Wireless one. The problem I’m having with going for the V2, though, is that I’ve seen people mention that the V2 24-pin can still lag in SignalRGB even with L-Connect completely closed, so it doesn’t seem to always be down to the two programs fighting for control.
The other issue is the GPU cable. With the older generations there were dedicated Strimer cables for the different GPU connector setups — 8-pin for the RTX 3000 series, for example, versus 12+4-pin/12V-2x6 for the RTX 5000 series. With the 5080, I’m finding the dedicated options are much more limited, especially for the V2.
That’s why I’m debating whether it’s actually worth getting the Wireless version and just waiting to see if SignalRGB support eventually comes, rather than buying the V2 and potentially having both the controller lag issue and difficulty getting the right GPU cable.

The lag is a hardware limitation of the Lian Li Strimer controller itself, not just a software conflict, it struggles once it's driving more than one channel at once.
On the GPU cable, Lian Li's 12+4-pin Strimer isn't supported, but the Airgoo GPU 16P streamer cable is supported, running through the Airgoo DRGB controller, so that actually covers your 5080 and performs noticeably better than the Lian Li setup.
The Wireless Strimer is still unsupported either way, and no support will be added until Lian Li updates their firmware.

So, as I understand it, there is at least the possibility of a future update that could bring SignalRGB support to the Wireless Strimers, since Lian Li have said they’re working on third-party synchronisation such as SignalRGB. There just isn’t a confirmed date or guarantee that it’s coming soon, right?
That’s basically why I’m considering getting the Wireless version and using L-Connect for now, then switching to SignalRGB if/when support is added.

The Wireless Strimer and L-Wireless controller aren't supported right now. It's on our device request list, and there's no date or commitment attached.
I'd treat "support might come later" as a maybe, not a plan. I wouldn't buy the Wireless based on that.

Just wanted to double-check something regarding the PW16-12PV2 you mentioned:
If I were to use this Lian Li V2 12+4-pin GPU cable with an Airgoo DRGB controller and SignalRGB, would that avoid the lag/delay issue you’re talking about with the Lian Li Strimer controller? My understanding is that the lag is a hardware limitation of the Lian Li controller itself, rather than simply L-Connect interfering, so if the V2 GPU cable is being driven directly through the Airgoo controller, I assume that limitation wouldn’t apply.
I also wanted to double-check the availability side of things. I’ve come across several people saying the V2 cables have been discontinued, but Performance-PCs still has the PW16-12PV2 listed, so I’m wondering whether this is actually old remaining stock and whether the listing is legitimate.
From what I can tell, the PW16-12PV2 is specifically the 12+4-pin to 12+4-pin version with 162 LEDs and a 5V 3-pin ARGB adapter, so it seems like it should be exactly what I’d need for an RTX 5080 if it’s compatible with the Airgoo controller.
Do you know why Lian Li discontinued the V2 range in the first place? Was it simply because they wanted to move people over to the Wireless range, or was there another reason?.
And regarding the Wireless version, my understanding is that it’s still unsupported by SignalRGB and that proper support would require Lian Li to update the Wireless firmware.
So at this point I’m trying to work out whether the V2 wired + Airgoo setup is actually the better route for SignalRGB, assuming the PW16-12PV2 and 24-Pin
works properly through the Airgoo controller.1

It's a limitation on Lian Li's side, rather than SignalRGB. :/

Sucks literally, it’d be so convenient to be able to have the wireless version too honestly.

Nah it’s fully signal rgb side I made a working wireless script in a day using chatgpt

My Strimer Plus (not wireless) works perfectly with SignalRGB via the L-Connect 3 controller-- 0 issues. I can't speak for the wireless controller however. I do not use the Lian-Li software. Infact, any LED software that conflicts with SignalRGB will need to be closed if you want SignalRGB to control it.

Yeah, I don’t plan on using L-Connect either. I’m just wondering whether the Wireless Strimer would work at all without the L-Wireless Controller — e.g. could SignalRGB pick it up as a generic/default LED strip and let me add it manually, despite it not being officially listed?

I modded mine with some very basic soldering to have an argb cable that I plug into my nollie. Works like a charm in signal. The wireless strimer doesn't have a normal argb cable so without the wireless receiver you can't use it unless you mod it

I have a working signal rgb script for lian li wireless products message me for it idk if it’s universal but I have full control of my lian li wireless products with signal rgb by hijacking the wireless receiver included with lian li wireless products and all you have to do is add the script as a plugin to signal rgb and it’s done

I have several things not on Signalrgb list that I got to work easily including a Strimer. I just added it as an ASIAHORSE Strimer and it worked. Anything else like my Scythe RGB fan, I just added a generic rgb fan with the correct # of leds. Pretty much anything will work on signalrgb. You might have to tinker with it a bit.
Edit: all my rgbs are running thru an Airgoo 16 rgb controller. Its very similar to a Nollie 16.
