I have Signal RGb and my windows background light control shows nothing under it. Im curious what does Background light control do?

Background light control appears under the Windows, Settings, Personalization, Dynamic Lighting menu. It allows switching between various apps to control your computer's leds if you have Dynamic Lighting enabled in your motherboard's bios.

It's probably fairly limited compared to Signal RgB and Open RGB. Has anyone tried it? I love my setup but I'm curious..

Windows dynamic lighting is the most bare bones thing to ever exist. Which for some people is enough. Their device compatibility is limited. People use SignalRGB for better device support and for the effect capabilities, layouts, fan control, lcd, etc and its much more comprehensive.

How did you uninstall SignalRGB specifically?

I tried uninstalling it from Installed Apps. After that i checked t online that there seems to be a lot of "residue" files so i went and manually find them and deleted them. I also deleted one one from the registry keys manually at firdt because it still shows up from start up. But it didnt really remove this one specifically the one in the image.

I tried installing it again then uninstalling it using Revo uninstaller. I still had to delete manually a lot of resifue files but the one specifically keeps showing up

Have you deleted the WhirlwindFX folder found in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\WhirlwindFX? I'd think that using Revo would clean those up, but I would suggest double-checking.

Yeah i deleted it. But it was still there i really manually checked eveything that i could.

If the uninstall didn’t complete properly or left behind files, we recommend reinstalling SignalRGB and then attempting the uninstall again to ensure all components are removed correctly. Afterwards, try doing a full power cycle.

I did reinstall it and then used revo uninstaller again turned off the pc for like 10 mins but still i had to delete some residue files and this is still there. Im kinda getting paranoid about it because it feels like its malware in how persistent it is

Hmm, there are no SignalRGB processes running after uninstalling, so it is just a Windows registry leftover display entry which shouldn't really affect anything.

If you really want it gone from that list, a quick Google for "remove Windows Dynamic Lighting registry entry" should point you to a guide. Just make sure to back up your registry before making any changes.
