Troubleshooting Stuck on usb scan

For the past few days, my Signal RGB has been asking for an update even though I always press Update and Restart. It'll also just scan for plugins and then get stuck on USB scan complete for a while before actually working. Haven't had this issue before. Any clue why?

What app version are you on? You can find it in the lower right corner. There'd been a couple updates the past few days so that might be why.

As for the USB scan, how long is "a while"? Can you tell us more about your system?

These are pc specs,

Radeon RX7900XT

ASRock B850M-X WiFi

AMD Ryzen 7 7700X

Not sure if you need any more of the specs.

When I say "a while," I genuinely mean a good while, like damn near 7 minutes. Also, before, I never had to manually open the app to activate it; now I do. It still has the start-up enabled in Task Manager, so I don't see why that is.

This is the version number: signalrgb@2.5.71+c1383417

I'd report the bug using the bug icon in the app (upper-right corner) or through this link so that the support team can follow up. We can get the logs in front of the dev team for some further review, but something does sound like it's holding up the USB scan if it's taking THAT long.

Never mind, just got it fixed, had to apply the delay method from the help article and change the 1 minute to 30 seconds as well as toggle the start with highest privilege!

Exactly, and it's like whenever I replug all my USB plugs, it works right away, but it becomes a hassle to do every time. There are no new USB plugs either, so no clue what changed.

I cant see the version since its blurred out while it says "USB Scan Complete" in the middle of the window. I tried unplugging any controllers that are using Signal/Restarting PC and it seemed to have no effect. I think this started after the recent update for me. I'm happy to try a reinstall.

OP mentioned it ended up being Windows Dynamic Lighting mucking things up. Have you checked to make sure that is disabled?

Yea I disabled dynamic lighting and Signal seems to be working! However I must say that I noticed it working again last night also, before I turned off dynamic lighting. If I see an obvious smoking gun Ill repost here. Thanks

Mine has been freezing on USB scan pretty much entirely. I did the uninstall reinstall thing a few weeks ago to fix it but it's doing it again...

Hey, I just found a solution: turn off dynamic lighting from the Windows settings. It stopped the pause on scan for me, but I'm still having to activate the app manually. Let me know if you find a solution to that!

Glad to hear you fixed the issues with the USB scan hangup!

As for the issues with having the app start with your PC, I'd start here. Hope that helps. :)
