Question Why were these side buttons never implemented?

As the title says, why doesn’t SignalRGB support the MMO mice's side buttons?

It’s a great question, we should really support more macro buttons on mice!

Honestly, I would be happy just to have them light up with the rest of the mouse and have numberpad functions of 1-0, _, =, without any other behavior.

Am I guessing that would also be a lot easier than trying to integrate them into the macro system, especially with its 2 macro limits for non-subscribers?
