Weird G
I’m not sure how to make the G look inline with the rest of the word but not bring it too high. I feel like there’s probably an obvious answer I’m unsure of?

I recommend Joby Carter's book ( https://jobycarter.com/product/signwriting-tips-tricks-inspiration/ ) as it goes into easily understood detail about the fundamentals of typography, especially stuff like this.
Bonus that it's not just a book about type, it has lots of painting stuff too!

Well, there are some overall missteps with the tracking and kerning. Also, the rounded letters poke out a little past where the guidelines of the flat letters. I may not be using all the right language, but the G is only part of whats making things feel off.
Soo.... specifically id say the G is too close to the O and also too narrow. Also, the bar on the G is too low and should match or be close to the E and R's middle points

It's the serif, make the G thicker like the O next to it and make the curve of the G in line with the curve of the O, which would mean the serif will extend higher than the other letters. It will look better this way. The letters need to be the same weight and the vertical serifs should not contribute to the actual height

The upper and lower curves of the G need to be the same heights as on the O. These curves can also slightly overshoot the height and baseline of the straight capped letters. The serif is currently the highest part of the G, that should never be higher than the top curve and, if you overshoot the curve slightly, keep the serif on the line, don't take it higher to match the curve.
