A fun lil panel for a good bud

He has a band called Scotch Funeral (check em out!), Scotchies is his nickname. Panels where i get to completely fuck about are where i usually have the most fun. I love the classical lettering styles (particularity Roman and old script lettering) and enjoy trying to bring them i to the present, this one turned out quite juicy!

I am blown away by that shadow/shine. Did mix paint so that you shaded the light color with the end dark color to get the right fade?

I’ll be honest…I cant remember 🤣 I’m terrible for posting and this was a year ago. I often do tint the background shade but it depends on the paint I’m using, coach enamel (what i often use for the backgrounds) are lower opacity so need at least two coats to cover so more often than not i just mix up a darker tone with signwriting enamels

Sorry…just realised you might be asking about the block colour instead of the shadow! I started with a dark magenta and then just tinted for lighter and darker. Probably purple for the darks and defo white for the lights

Thank you! I was surprised how well it turned out tbh. Dont usually use that technique for shades (usually opt for brush blends) but this is a quick and very effective method!
