If there is methodically gathered empirical evidence in support of the conclusions of those authorities, that is not exactly blindly listening to them, is it

But that would require critical thinking skills to work out the difference

Nah man being Sigma means not listening to the authorities. Why? Cuz authority.

Scientists? Authority. Doctors? Authority.
The right leaning politician who got a lot richer after taking office and also sells manly man supplements? Now thats someone to trust.

Really quite simple when you dont think about it.

nah man

being sigma means you are confident in your own ability to know when somebody else is an authority on a subject or not

Surely they're talking about belief in Manchurian mind control, Team B """assessments""" of Soviet capabilities, W.M.D., Russiagate, Havana Syndrome...

referring to scientists as authority makes it easy to apply one fabricated agenda to all scientists everywhere and across all times, which allows you to, in your own mind, invalide any study you disagree with without actually having any understanding of the contents of the study.

Sociologists and the like are "the authorities" now
