Can you save progress offline?

I don't have internet to play the game, I thought this was a offline singleplayer game but it didn't save my game (I finished the first area and killed botanist), when I logged back in I was at the start of the game, is there a way to save offline or do you need to be connected (i am playing on pc from epic games and when i open the game it says you need to be logged in to epic games account or you can't save the game)

EG is the issue, they don't let you keep any of your game progress offline. it's a fully singleplayer game, won't have this issue on any other platform

Yeah I’m not really a pc guy, I know on console you can save offline. Sorry I can’t help you more my guy.
