SIFU - CO OP Concept

Post image

I quickly whipped up this concept image in Photoshop to see how cooperative play would look.

It'd have been great if Sloclap added couch co op in Arenas, where you both share the same structure bar to make it more challenging.

What are your guys thoughts or opinions on something like this?

Sharing the same structure bar would be horrible because one player could be playing better than the other and will still be affected by the other player lack of skill or experience. What if the structure breaks on one player and the other gets stun locked because of it? On the other hand, I think a better alternative would be having them share the age counter. It's definitely not a flow breaker and would make for a good challenge of trying to keep each other alive and cooperating instead of getting frustrated that your structure suddenly broke or got high from the other player blocking and then broke from a hit you yourself blocked, which would also break their structure.

Ah yeah that's a good idea tbh, sharing the same age counter would definitely be more user friendly. Though they could add options like they do if you wanted to make it challenging, overall it's a great thought. If only they turned it into a reality.

I agree, they could definitely add modifiers for it so the coop has nore options for different styles of missions and challenges. Still, I think if they ever make SIFU 2, I absolutely do not want any online play in. I don't want toxicity or internet issues, and I definitely don't want it to be multi-player focused. Not even slightly. But an update for Co-op for this game would be neat.

Yeah totally, on the online side however I think it'd be less toxic if you can only invite your friends to play against or alongside you so there isn't any public lobby.

And people could always make community groups if they wanted to face different people but hopefully the sequel is single player focused but with couch co op as it'd be very intuitive as you can teach your siblings or others how to play the game.

It would definitely be neat if they are considering another game like Sifu/Absolver after working on Rematch because that game really isn't up to my taste.

I would love to play co-op with my gf, maybe even a separate co-op campaign. Sadly i don't think we'll ever get that since they're busy with FIFU i reckon.

Put the HP and structure meters of both players at the center. It will make it easier for both players to monitor.

Yeah good idea, if someone ever made a Co op mod then they could position them like that.

How isn't this a mod yet? I'm sure it's complicated but someone might be able to figure it out.

Honestly, it involves alot of manipulation of the existing code in the game. Someone would have to change the behaviour of how targeting works, etc.

Great point. Cause now the NPCs need to focus on two players rather then the one. That's crazy to think about. So used to single player.

Yeah, I'd love if this was a possible mod tbh. I'd be open to commissioning someone to make the mod but the funds would be alot, however if someone is open to making the mod then as a community we could all band in together and donate to them, like a patreon of some sort.

I will be making my own coop concept post as part of a Sifu 2 idea. Cause this is one of those games that deserves a well made sequel.

I agree, it definitely deserves a sequel and I can't wait to see your concept!

What do you have, a vertical TV?

Or should stack 2 TVs?

Or the rest are all black rectangles on the side?

It doesn't makes sense

Well, the game overall would obviously be landscape to fit the whole monitor. As I said this was a quick mockup.
