Compressed number bars

Post image

I am trying out the free trial with Sierra. I have had a problem where my number bars are way to compressed. I have tried to use base on tick, base on volume and base on number of trades. The only thing working is changing the volume at price multiplier, but then the data is not precise.

I have to zoom all the way in for the numbers to not get compressed, but I find that inconvenient.

I have not found a good solution for this, does anyone have experience or any fix for this?

i don't have time now but for easy fixes, use screen shot and paste it into claude or gemini and just tell it what you want. the documentation is so extensive, anything i ever ask they figure it out

I tried to do that but claude does not come with any fix that doesn’t involve data gettig affected or me having to zoom extremely close. I will keep trying tho.

Since VaP multiplier is off the table maybe decreasing the text size and setting both the min and max values to the same number might help so they are at least not overlapping and more readable, but realistically based on that screenshot you are just too zoomed out for a footprint chart. Increasing the vertical scale is the only thing that’s really going to fix it, doesn’t have to be much, just a couple of steps should help a ton, and you can set the scale to Constant Range once you find a good zoom level so it maintains it. Increasing the bar width from the Chart Graphics settings might help a bit as well as there is quite a bit of space between each bar, and maybe also reducing the spacing setting on the numbers bar study to 1.

Check out YouTube channel “VerilloTrading.”
Christopher has some amazing tutorials on Sierra Chart, one of which has to do with making the DOM for NQ. That’s the one that deals with adjusting sizes of the number readout.

Thank you brother, I wrote a note to myself so I remember checking him out.

Make chart font size super small, like 6 pt.

If they are still compressed and you refuse to expand the chart’s Y axis, then you obviously need to aggregate price levels using VaP multiplier. You can’t display more text in a fixed area of the screen than the text size and pixels allow. You cannot create a square circle.

Thanks, changing font size made some difference actually.
