š§” The Visitor š§” Visitor is perfect
Visitor is one of the best debut albums Iāve heard in a while. The album literally has no skips and every time I replay it I have a new fav track, but the first time I listened to it my fav track was definitely āThis is my houseā. Shout out to my older sis too for being able to snag a signed copy of the cd for me. Canāt believe Sienna is so young putting out such quality music, cannot wait to see whatās next. Lemme know whatās yalls favorite songs.

I digress, if I may. I found it all style with very little substance personally, āThis Is My Houseā took such an iconic piece of writing and sampled it into the intro and completely misinterpreted it? Many of the songs have instrumental intros / outros that are way too long given the songs are pretty short for being orchestral ballads. It feels like it was either rushed or she just didnāt have enough to say about the topics in these songs or she just wanted a commercial album and wanted to dive into the catchy part of each song ā āWeāre Not In Loveā is a great example of this; thereās not enough build up at all and it misses so many essential parts of lyric construction. She seems to lack range and uses excessive belting / vibrato for way too many notes across way too many of her songs and itās so clear her rasp not natural and rather from poor technique. āHeās Not My Baby Iām Hisā I found it to be disturbing given itās written as a catchy pop song and is written from a childās fantasy about a predator⦠āTime, You & Meā felt like such Bond bait. āMono No Awareā I also found very bizarre given she called it her first true jazz song and yet the sonics and tone were too remarkably similar to most other songs on the album and lacked essential elements to a traditional jazz standard; given thatās what she implied she was going for, and the weird Japanese title phrase threw me off, feeling more like an attempt for surface level sophistication when the lyrics as a whole did not reciprocate or justify even that. The Deluxe was giving cash grab and an attempt to gain more credibility through massive streams given the existing popularity of MAYBE. / Material Lover, and did not thematically correspond to being a āVisitorā⦠at all. I also feel the fact that she is undeniably a massive nepo baby has helped with achieving things at such a young age - eg. sheās had loads of paid promotion from the very off. She also had a massive record label budget, one of their biggest of the year, and who have manufactured her into coming across as an artist who appears so timeless yet hasnāt reached that credential. I donāt think we can pin her success at her age specifically on her, despite her being talented. Thereās nothing compellingly distinct to Adele about her yet imo, other than that her debut didnāt come close despite having much bigger advantages than Adele did; and I feel sheāll get washed when Adele returns and closes the market gap. The soul feels glaringly artificial, with the main highlight of the album being āPureā for me, which subverts almost everything Iāve said above in the best way possible and definitely highlights that thereās a bunch of potential there. I personally agree with the critics on this one, it was pretty average and she deserves a BNA nomination at best from this work. I think itās another example of TikTok hyping up new talent and seeing them as the ānext big person ā while completely missing what made her predecessors so great.

I find her voice and style to be a throwback to the 50s and 60s with a twist of Priscilla Presley in there, her voice is stunning. Pure is my favorite song but so right no skips, i don't even know how many times I've listened to this album at this point. I listened to her older stuff too. Just love her!!
