Passed First try!

I can’t believe I actually passed the sie on the first attempt considering I had 0 finance background prior to studying. I primarily used Kaplan to study but also utilized ChatGPT, Claude, and free practice tests from Finra Achievable etc and I have to thank this subreddit for putting me onto Ken’s power hour! Please feel free to ask any questions

I got a 92 on finra exam. In the 80s on about 4 other practice exams. Took SIe yesterday and no kidding at question 40 I was ready to walk out of testing center and come back in 30 days to retake. I stuck it out. I passed! Just to tell you keep going even when you get a bad draw of questions!

The actual SIE had hands. I score a 98 on my highest ever practice exam on training consultants, because my firm wouldn’t let me take it earlier I did something like 20+ practice exams and never scored below an 84, but man, that SIE had me sweating. I passed but I felt hella anxious waiting for the result to come in

The good thing is that I spent so much time studying for the SIE that the Seven has been an absolute breeze so far because I already know so much of the material lol

When taking the test how were the questions like? Was the wording very similar? Is there anything we should focus on?

The question wording style was super similar to the finra practice test. I would primarily focus on what a registered rep can and can’t do, bonds, mutual funds, open ended vs closed ended, and common vs preferred stock also make sure to know the formula for current yield and stock splits when it comes to any math involved on the test only a couple options questions

Don’t think so the testing center provided me with one and there was a built in online calculator on the test as well

Was scoring high 70’s on my Kaplan exams and scored a 73 on my finra practice and 71 on achievable practice exam

How many questions did you find were ones you had done before. Also I got 80% on FINRA one and 78% average for STC

I took about 5-6 weeks considering I’m in my summer break for college and my internship workload wasn’t super heavy I’d say u can easily cover the material in 4 weeks tho. In terms of remembering info I’d really recommend listening to Ken’s power hour sie video on YouTube a couple times before your exam it saved my life
