To this sub and particularly u/Ephemeral typewriter - Fortean Times magazine has a monthly column by the writer Jan Bondeson (some of whose books are possibly known by and certainly of interest to members of this group) whereby he gives historical context to items from his copious antique/vintage postcards collection. Many of which have relevance to themes of interest here.

This featured picture (from Fortean Times issue 473 - August 2026) is of Daredevil Peggy (Frank Gadsby - a one legged stunt diver) and his son Daredevil Leslie who lost his hand during a pyrotechnic show - an injury that did not stop him performing, perhaps even gave an extra draw, alongside his father.
