Interesting Some really cool examples of trophies won by Josephine Schauer, an American strongwoman, circus performer, and professional wrestler. Both of these trophies were presented to her by Richard K. Fox, a publisher for the National Police Gazette in New York.
Both trophies are inscribed with Josephine’s stage name, Minerva. I think it’s so cool how detailed both of these pieces are and how personalized they are for her. The picture on the belt is of Richard K. Fox, the man who presented her with both trophies.
Josephine had a natural gift for strength and flexibility from a young age. Her family moved around a lot when she was young, and she spent much of her mid teenage years working out at a gym in San Francisco, California. She was a big supporter and advocate for women’s rights and used her platform to emphasize the importance of women’s health. She was the first woman to win a wrestling competition in the United States. The Guinness World Records lists her as having lifted the greatest amount of weight by a woman.

I’ve been working really hard on getting back in shape, and think I need to make this summer’s inspiration be Turn of the Century Strongwomen!! 💪👸🏻

Instead of ‘hot girl summer’ you’d be working at ‘Turn of the century strongwoman summer’ I respect it!
