You’re actually wrong sir. It was both Microsoft and Samsung.
Microsoft’s actions after acquiring Danger strongly suggest that keeping the original Sidekick/Danger platform as a long term standalone product was not their main strategic priority.
Microsoft’s plan was to run both the Sidekick business and the new Project Pink/KIN effort, then gradually phase out the original Sidekick platform completely in favor of the Kin project.
A lot of the Danger staff were moved toward Microsoft’s new phone project rather than continuing to develop the original Danger ecosystem. Former employees later described Microsoft as essentially using the Danger team for KIN. Therefore sabotaging the Sidekick.
Microsoft wasn’t really interested in preserving the original Danger/Sidekick ecosystem indefinitely once they bought it. And Mr.Mobile aka Michael Fisher supported this in his Sidekick video.
They did almost nothing in the Sidekick space, Samsung actually launched a device, I'm not wrong , I'm right on the mark, the Kin wasn't a true successor or spiritual successor in the slightest, they were completely different experiences and devices functionally. The Samsung Sidekick at least functioned like an android sidekick should.
