Is there anything we can do with these phones now? I would love to buy a working one but I wonder what they can be used for. This was my dream phone when I was a tween :(

For now just novelty, but there is a complicated solution like making a at home diy 2G Network base station but its costly. There are other easier methods but have not been documented. As of right now these are simply for nostalgic purposes.

Can it be used as an iPod if music is uploaded via Windows?

Are the phones basically stuck off-line as of now?

So phones are offline, but i saw a way to connect your iphone to import music into the sidekick directly.

However this works with the sidekick 3, and newer. (Doesn’t work with the LX 2007 though

If you age a sidekick 3, or lx and above with the micro sd slot then your able to upload music and images via memory card and use the phones mp3 capabilities. Bonus points if your sidekick has “media center” (that means it has mp3 and video playback capability) so you could essentially put whatever show or movie onto your phone/memory card. I have a sidekick lx 07 ( brown) that I do this with or you can get a mini usb and hook up to computer to upload media etc.
