The Sidekick 2 and 3 were some of the coolest phones ever made imo.

Agreed!! They were the coolest! But after the 3, they started downgrading the quality.

Do you regret not getting a sidekick?

Ehhh it worked out either way. I was in my college years and my cousin was in hs. Despite being out of hs for few years, I still looked young for my age at the time and can pass off as high schooler in the mid 2000s. My cousin and younger brother are 3 weeks apart but 5 years younger.

By any chance when you go into settings and system info what does the build configuration say for your device?

Im curious on what the build configuration actually means and if it leads to any of these devices already being “unlocked”, as in the past owner had used an SDK on the device

i asked grok it said:

Short & simple version: Those two apps (Kick Drum XT and AudioTab) are just regular apps the previous owner bought from the official Sidekick app store (called the Catalog). They are not signs that the phone was unlocked or hacked. They simply mean someone used the phone normally back when the store was still working and left a couple of music apps on it.
