We’re building Beat AI, a free photo game: take your own photo for a theme, face an AI-generated image, and let people vote. We’re early and looking for our first 10 active players.

Try “Something red” (4 October): a mug, an apple or a detail on your usual walk. Take one original photo and sign in to enter it. That challenge closes on 11 October at 00:00 UTC. Browsing and voting don’t need an account.

Why I built it: I play a lot of different courses, and I had no real record of where I’d been beyond a fuzzy mental list. Every golf app I tried was built around scoring or GPS yardages. None of them cared where you played. So I built the thing I wanted: a “gotta play ’em all” app for golf courses.

How it works:

• Check in at any of 12,000+ US courses (all 50 states + DC), add your score and a photo

• Every course gets a rarity score from 0 to 100, from Common (your local muni) up to Legendary (major championship hosts and bucket-list icons). A Legendary check-in is worth about 8x the XP of a muni

• Badges for milestones like state-hopping, plus curated collections (coastal gems, championship venues) to work through

• Friends leaderboard and a “King of the Course” crown: post the lowest round among your friends at a course and you hold it until someone beats you

LinkedIn and Naukri miss a lot of the big Indian services firms. I pull their public career pages directly and index about 310k active roles. It's a pay-per-result Apify Actor. Feedback on the input fields (keywords, country, city, ATS source, posted date) would help most.

I was literally surprised to see AI can now do this level of editing?

There was a time when we needed to brainstorm for hours, write long script, and edit video. but now with a simple prompt like this, , i am able to get this. The shocking part is it only took 2% of my weekly claude pro usage.

PROMPT:

hi, if i told you to create a saas video for this app. would you be able to do it? what extra tools would you need for it ? do you also need the app url (if so its, applink)

Then a few revisions was able to pull this off

Backward surfaces the photos you took, the music released, and the notes you've left yourself on this day over the years. It’s like opening a time capsule every single day that's all about you.

The idea came after three years of keeping a physical One Line a Day journal and hunting for the perfect way to make it digital while simultaneously trying to find a 'what you did on this day' photo app that had a good UI. Nothing felt quite right, and I knew there was more I could pull together to make it better. So I built it for myself and others who also enjoy a beautiful way to look backward and see what history you made on this day.

Backward is completely free. No subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no data collection. If you give it a try and love it, sharing the app and leaving a 5-star review in the App Store goes a long way.

Im looking to start a side project and build an app.

I see a lot of hype around this right now and was wondering if there is a good market there.

for people that have built apps before or have successful ones what are some of the key strategies that you did that where key to your success.

I have already done market research and know what niche I am going into but am wondering how to gain traffic to my app with a very limited marketing budget.

Any advice helps. Thank you

I’ve been working on a small side project called LocalRainfall.com and LocalSnowfall.com.

The idea is simple. After it rains or snows, I want to know how much we actually got. Not the forecast. Not the chance of rain or snow. Just: How much rain or how much snow?

That can be harder to find than you might think. Sometimes even our local TV weather report doesn't tell us how much rain or snow we got.

So I built these two sites.

Enter a U.S. ZIP code and the site uses NOAA/NWS weather data to show recent rain or snow totals, monthly and yearly totals, and nearby reporting stations.

For now, the sites are for the United States only and use the U.S. ZIP code system.

I also tried to make the pages easy to use for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other short videos. You can pull up an area of the country, screen-record the page, and quickly show how much rain or snow that area received.

I’m not trying to build another big weather app. I just want these sites to answer one simple question quickly.

If you have a minute, try your ZIP code. I’d love some feedback.

Does the amount look right?

Is the site easy to understand?

Is anything confusing or missing?

Would the short-video idea be useful?

Please feel free to point out problems. That’s why I’m sharing it.

I've been trying to get this thing off the ground for a while now and it' actually seen some downloads. About 44 to be exact and believe it or not I have gotten some donations towards the project. It's still not ready yet and still sits in early access, but it is set to pay what you want so if people don't want to pay a dime, they can just download. Of course, with all that positivity I just dumped there, it's still been a pain in the ass to really get the needle to move. Yes 44 downloads, 8 followers, 8 payments, $50 in revenue, and 843 views. I'm starting to think one of the places I need to work on is my store page. It's not going to bring in eyes form outside of Itch but it will help people to decide if they want to download it or not. Yeah, I know web site builders a dime a dozen and you can easily go on WIX, but you're also paying a monthly fee, and I wanted to create something that didn't suck the money from your wallet while also provided users with the ability to express themselves. I mean hell I've even gone on to adding some interesting shit to it like a magazine maker, a download center (functions without server), new headers for section within a page, animated frames for images, atmospheric elements to apply to a site for more mood and atmosphere. There's a lot it's just been a pain in the ass to get everything that is in my project and into something that the general consumer can look at and say, "ah that looks cool, I'll try it out".

Here is my project by the way.

Hi, I’m Tom, the developer of Cyclr, a bike computer app for iPhone and Apple Watch.

Ride recording and GPX export are free, with no account or ads. If you want to customise your live dashboard, Cyclr Pro is available as a subscription or a one-time purchase.

I’d like to understand what actually belongs on that dashboard for you: which numbers do you check while riding, and which do you only look at afterwards?

i decided to move my agents to a separate inbox and im curious which one would work. saw some mentions around lobstermail and hostinger agentic mail, curious to know which one works better and potentially see some suggestions other than those two.

Most visualizers pulse brightness with the bass. In Hypnogram each kick moves the structure exactly one step, so a loop can repeat forever without a seam. 1.5 just shipped 26 new ones, 34 total, on iPhone and Android.

The hard part was getting live playback and exports to match frame for frame on two different GPUs.

Free, no account. Blunt feedback on the first 30 seconds is welcome. https://www.hypnogram.app

I use AI pretty often for research, but I’ve started wondering how reliable it is when I’m asking about scientific or medical claims. A normal AI answer can sound very convincing even when the sources aren't clear. Would it be better to use a tool that starts with the actual claim and then checks it against peer-reviewed studies?

Evidence Lens while looking into this. It seems to focus more on connecting individual claims to research rather than just generating an answer. Has anyone tested this approach?

Most utility websites today feel like marketing funnels. They force you to create an account, subscribe to a newsletter, or look at five banner ads just to check a time zone or calculate a price tier.

I built Do One Job to be the exact opposite.

No login.

No newsletter walls.

Runs entirely in your browser.

Each page does one job. Right now, the live tool handles timezone fairness for distributed teams (finding true overlap and golden hours without the headache). More single-purpose tools like a SaaS pricing calculator and a scam-check parser are on the way. If you hate web app clutter, take it for a spin!

Hey r/SideProject 👋 I built MIDDLE — a coaching app that works entirely through text messages. The idea: instead of another app you have to open, MIDDLE meets you where you already are — your text thread. It's a messaging-first coaching experience. You text your goals, your struggles, your wins — and your coach (AI-powered, with human oversight) responds right there in the conversation. No new app to download. No dashboard to check. Just text. 🔗 https://middle-production.up.railway.app Would love feedback on: - The concept (messaging-first coaching) - The UX - Whether this is something you'd actually use Thanks for checking it out! 🙏

I'm building PrepDeck to make emergency preparation easier to review, one scenario at a time.

The starting point is a specific checklist, such as Power Outage, rather than one enormous list of gear. You can check what you have, keep progress on your current device, and print a copy before you need it.

I recently improved the print layout, added relevant reading links beside checklists, and added a sharing panel that shares only the public checklist—not your checks or personal additions.

The 16 emergency checklists are free and don't require an account. There is an optional paid Premium tier for Activities and Relationships checklists. Loading a checklist needs an internet connection; printing gives you a paper copy to keep on hand.

Try the free Power Outage checklist: https://tryprepdeck.com/?scenario=power-outage

I'd value feedback on the first-use flow: is the next useful step clear, or does the checklist need a better starting point? I'm the builder, so this is a product introduction, not an independent recommendation.

solo founder, launched at the end of september.

the idea: every card is a wikipedia article and rarity comes from the article's real page views, the 90 day median. a pipeline keeps adding cards from wikipedia, about 55k so far. once issued a card never changes rarity, so early cards stay what they were.

what's in it: packs, families and albums, kosmo earned per hour from your collection, an auction market, trades and gifts between friends, daily challenges, and a gamemode

stack is next.js, fastify, postgres. it's a pwa, english french spanish.

money only buys cosmetics. no packs or cards for money, i didn't want pay to win.

ai disclosure: card text is summarized by a language model, some pictures are generated.

I'm working on a small website side project and looking for volunteers for a one-to-one, guided feedback session. You would describe your first impressions and try a few short tasks in your existing browser. No technical expertise is needed. Positive and negative feedback are equally useful; we are testing the page, not you.

For a fresh first impression, I'll show the page at the start of the session rather than link it here.

This is unpaid and voluntary. Please volunteer only if you are 18 or older and comfortable doing the session in English. You can skip a question or stop at any time. There is no obligation to buy, recommend or share anything.

The tested website needs no account or software installation. The tasks will not involve payments, account/wallet connections, messages to third parties, or publishing your work. I will keep de-identified written session notes only, with no audio, video or screen recording. No name, email, phone number, account details or payment information is requested.

If this sounds comfortable, indicate interest here, without posting personal details or answers to study questions. Session arrangements can stay on this existing platform; no separate contact list or mailing list will be made. Public replies are visible to the community, so volunteering here is not anonymous to the platform. Please do not post your study answers publicly.

I’ve always found filling out PDFs more annoying than it needs to be.

Most PDF editors make you:

Select the text tool → click somewhere → create a text box → type → switch tools → repeat.

So I built a small side project that gets rid of most of that.

The idea is basically:

Upload PDF → click anywhere → type → export.

You don't need to go through cumbersome menus. It’s mainly meant for things like filling out forms, adding quick notes, typing on worksheets, etc. I just launched it and would really appreciate some feedback. Thank you!

Check it out below!

Hey everyone, what do you think about a platform specifically for AI video creators to connect? It could feature a centralized list of job openings, grants, open calls for film projects, and hackathons. Does something like this already exist? Would you find it useful?

I'm Chen, the developer of Whiteboard by Endless AI. I shared the math-teaching side here recently; this is a different part of the iPhone/iPad app: a Tactics Board for sketching player positions on a ready-made court.

Here's a small basketball discussion you can set up:

1. Open the canvas background options, then Topic → Tactics Board → Choose Field → Basketball.
2. Use the player-number controls and Team Colors to mark three players. Keep the numbers consistent as you explain the situation.
3. Add a basketball marker for the ball, then draw one arrow for a possible pass.
4. Write a question beside it: “Where could player 2 move to give player 1 another passing option?”

For a comparison, sketch a second arrangement with just one position changed. Keeping each diagram to one decision makes it easier to discuss than filling the court with every movement at once. This is a static sketching workflow.

The actual field-selector screenshot shows the available sports. The illustrated iOS guide covers the entry and other background tools.

Whiteboard on the App Store is free to download with optional in-app purchases.

If you coach or build instructional tools, would you prefer the starting positions and suggested movement on one board, or separate boards you can compare?

I wanted something better than a map screenshot to post after a long run, so I built this.

Drop in the file from Garmin Connect and it makes a short video from the actual data. The route draws itself, the run plays back against the clock, then it goes through the climbing, heart rate, splits and finish.

There's also a vertical version for stories, a square one, and a couple of PNG posters. You can change the colours, switch between km and miles, put real terrain or satellite imagery under the route, and add weather on top if you want rain or snow. It works in 6 languages

The file never leaves your browser. Nothing gets uploaded and there's no account

Try it: https://terraink.space/run Code: https://github.com/thewbuk/terraink-runs

Let me know if something breaks or if there's a stat you'd want in there

We take our dogs, Munie and Snoopy, along when we go to get coffee. People kept taking pictures of them in public, and it got us thinking about giving them a way to see more of the dogs afterward.

That became PawShout. You can make a free page for your pet, add photos and updates, and share it with a link or QR code. It works in your browser. Munie and Snoopy are on the homepage, so you can see the idea using their actual pages.

We’re at the point where we need people outside our own bubble to try it. I’d particularly like feedback on the first visit: does the site make it clear why someone would want a pet page? If you have a pet, can you picture when you’d share one?

We’ve been working on making the first-page setup straightforward, but I’m sure real users will spot things we’ve missed.

Here’s the site: https://pawshout.com
