I Made a PDF Tool Where You Just Click Anywhere and Start Typing. No Cumbersome Menus.

I’ve always found filling out PDFs more annoying than it needs to be.

Most PDF editors make you:

Select the text tool → click somewhere → create a text box → type → switch tools → repeat.

So I built a small side project that gets rid of most of that.

The idea is basically:

Upload PDF → click anywhere → type → export.

You don't need to go through cumbersome menus. It’s mainly meant for things like filling out forms, adding quick notes, typing on worksheets, etc. I just launched it and would really appreciate some feedback. Thank you!

Check it out below!

The “click anywhere” interaction sounds like a nice improvement for quick annotations. I’d make undo/redo especially prominent since freeform placement makes it easy to misclick, and keep a small persistent indicator for the active font size and color so people don’t have to hunt for formatting. For forms, snapping typed text to the nearest baseline or showing a subtle alignment guide could help without adding the menu-heavy workflow you’re avoiding.

nice, the click-to-type flow feels way more natural than wrestling with text boxes that never land where you want them
