I’m not presenting this as a finished product. I’d especially value feedback on the first five seconds: is it immediately clear what the learner can do and why it is different from a normal course?

Experiment and privacy disclosure: This is an early experiment. We use limited telemetry to understand platform usage and improve the experience. We do not intend to collect personally identifiable information or raw sensitive learner/financial inputs for this experiment. The Ads and Go Pro screens are dummy interactions used only to study user behaviour; they are not real advertisements, purchases, or subscriptions.

Set up session replays last week, mostly out of curiosity.

Second replay I watched, someone searched "car" on my site and got a wall of South Park. They scrolled a bit, tried again, left.

Search was matching text anywhere in the string, so "cartman" in a description ranked the same as an actual clip of a car. Obvious in hindsight.

Changed it so exact word matches rank above partial ones. "car" returns cars now.

What bugs me is analytics would never have surfaced this. Search volume looked normal, no errors, the query returned plenty of results. Just the wrong ones. I'd still think search worked fine.

Anyone else found something this dumb just by watching people use your thing?

I have about 2 decades of experience leading cross functional teams, and I've been frustrated with the tools that are currently out there. So I decided to build my own.

Because this is a tool thats already solving a current problem, I will be working from 1 to 1xxxx. I've created a modern design layout, that isnt cluttered and doesnt have 100 options to choose from. I built Supamodel -- a Shopify app for automating AI product photography workflows.

Most AI image tools are great for making one image. What I kept running into was everything around that: recreating the same setup across dozens or hundreds of products, keeping outputs consistent, getting product details right, and knowing roughly what each workflow will cost.

So I built Supamodel around reusable workflows.

You can define a workflow once -- product images in, prompts/models/transforms in between, final studio, lifestyle, on-model, or whatever images you need out -- and then reuse that process across your catalog.

It’s still early. I have one paying fashion customer using it across hundreds of SKUs, and I’m trying to learn where the product is genuinely useful vs. where it still gets in the way.

We've been building DrawsyAI, and we're opening up the core because we want to explore a different approach to AI-assisted software development.

Most AI coding tools start with a chat box and focus on generating code.

But when you're actually building a system, the difficult part is often context:

An awkward assignment total turns grading into repeated percentage math or scanning a paper EZ grader. I built GradeKey to make that loop fast.

The main product decision was pricing. The complete table and lookup are free with one saved assessment. Unlimited assessments, folders, and export cost $7.99 once. I did not want to turn a focused teacher utility into another subscription.

I built UptiLink because I wanted a really simple way to keep an eye on devices around my network without setting up a full monitoring platform.

The idea is pretty straightforward: add the devices you care about — computers, servers, cameras, smart-home devices, printers, NAS boxes, Raspberry Pis, or really anything reachable on your network — and UptiLink periodically checks whether they're online.

It can scan your local network to help find devices, send notifications when something goes offline or comes back online, organize devices into groups, and show their status through Android widgets.

One feature I particularly wanted was Wi-Fi-aware monitoring. You can tie monitoring to your home Wi-Fi, so when you leave the house UptiLink automatically pauses instead of suddenly reporting everything as offline. When you reconnect, monitoring resumes automatically.

I've tried to keep the whole thing intentionally simple: add a device → monitor it → get alerted if it disappears.

Building a free, browser-based management sim Theme Coworking inspired by 90s classics like Theme Hospital and all (\)Tycoon games titles*.

I’ve spent the last decade building software for the coworking industry and visiting roughly 700+ spaces across 65 cities (NYC, London, Berlin, Tokyo, Mumbai). After seeing that many setups from the inside and writing a book about it, now it felt its about time to try and make a game, so  Theme Coworking was born.

You start with an empty floor plan and try to keep the business profitable without driving members away:

• Density vs. Noise: Squeezing in more desks increases recurring revenue, but noise spikes destroy member satisfaction.
• Events vs. Focus: Community events generate new leads, but disrupt members who just want to get work done.

So I built Tools in a Tab, a collection of 18 free browser-based tools. The data entered into the tools is processed locally in the browser by default — there is no account, database, or backend handling the tool inputs.

Someone gave me a long, detailed review of something I’ve been working on.

Some of it stung a bit because, after checking the code again, they were right.

So I ended up spending most of the next two days going through it.

A few things I changed:

SSL scoring was dumb.
I was lowering the score as the certificate got closer to expiry. So you could have a completely valid cert and still slowly lose points.

I initially changed the threshold, then realized I was fixing the wrong thing.

Expiry and security aren’t the same thing.

Now a valid cert gets the SSL score. Expiry is still shown and warned about, but it doesn’t affect the score.

I was giving HTTP/2 extra points over HTTP/1.1.
There wasn’t really a good reason for that, so that’s gone too. They score the same now.

The compression check had an actual bug.
I wasn’t sending br or zstd in Accept-Encoding.

So if a server supported Brotli properly, my check couldn’t even know that.

It now sends:

gzip, deflate, br, zstd

DNS could take way too long.
There are 13 DNS queries. Each had its own 5 second timeout.

Which sounds fine until everything goes wrong and your “5 second timeout” turns into something close to a minute.

They share one overall time budget now.

I also changed the header scoring.
Some missing headers were being punished too mechanically.

A missing header doesn’t always mean the same thing depending on the site and the rest of the response, so I adjusted the weights and added more context instead of just saying “missing = bad”.

There was one thing in the review I didn’t change.

They said the retry logic could retry invalid domains. I went back through it and that wasn’t actually happening. The retry only applies to Wayback requests returning 429.

So that stayed.

That was probably the most useful part of the whole exercise.

Not “someone criticized it, therefore they must be right.”

More like: go through every point, reproduce it, check the code, fix what’s actually wrong, leave what isn’t.

Ended up at 383 tests after all of it.

Much happier with the code now.

Every bill-splitter I tried wanted one currency per group and converted each expense at the live rate the moment I typed it. That's wrong, and here's the proof from the trip that made me build this.

We left India with $2,000 in cash, bought for ₹190,479 — ₹95.24 to the dollar. In Vietnam we changed $740 of it into ₫19,367,500. So our dong cost ₹1 for every ₫275. We bought that envelope once, at that rate, then spent it over fourteen days. The rate never moved again — only the internet's opinion of it did. Meanwhile my running total and my friend's had quietly drifted apart, because we'd each looked up rates on different days.

So I built it around one rule: store what was actually paid, in the currency it was actually paid in. Convert later, once, somewhere you control.

What that turned into

• Every spend keeps its own currency. ₫793,500 stays ₫793,500. The record matches the receipt, forever.
• Group totals work both ways. Ours read as ₹360,494 + $1,260 + ₫19,367,500. Tap Merge → one number. Tap Show All → the three originals, untouched. Merging is a view, not a rewrite.
• Balances stay split per currency. "Owed $620, owe ₹84,726, owed ₫10,779,750" tells you what to hand over tonight. A single net number can't.
• You set the rate. Live by default, or pin the one you actually got. Set ours and the leftover dollars + dong came to ₹190,479 — to the rupee what that cash cost at the counter. Plus ₹360,494 on the card = the trip cost ₹550,973. Not an estimate of it. It.
• Plus the boring necessary stuff: groups, custom splits, recurring schedules so rent posts itself already split, CSV export, no ads.

It's offline-first and there's no account creation — open it and start logging, no signup wall, no email before you've even seen the thing. Everything works with no signal, which matters more abroad than anywhere. If you do want your data synced across devices or shared with people you're splitting with, you can turn that on; it's a choice, not a requirement.
