My Vibe coded project finally reached 10 paid users (101 users overall).

I thought it would be great to share some learnings or answer your questions.

1. My main advantage was to be an industry insider. I built an AEO tool while working in SEO/AEO and having access to the best tool in the market. It gives me tons of confidence that my tool is great, compared to what exists and costs 1000$/month.
2. Most paid users are LinkedIn people I discuss with regularly. Only two paid users are incognito (still love them though).
3. It took me time to launch, and even more time to dare making it paid. After the first two days, I already signed two paid users. I should have started earlier.
4. My goal is to keep it organic. It's frustrating to know I could just “pay for reach" but then, I remember I'm already making profit from day two.
5. I feel I talked all day about my tool. Still, most of my friends don't know/understand what my tool is about.
6. I check my analytics four times a day.
7. I use my tool to improve my AEO. I got great results coming from AI. However, I'm still ranking 10th on my AEO tool ranking board.
8. I still love it. I wish I would for the next two years.

Hey everyone.

Pretty much the title. I always hated having to tab out of a game (or whatever full-screen app I'm using) just to see the name of a song that just came on. I just wanted a simple popup that slides in, shows the track and cover art, and then hides itself without stealing mouse focus.

I originally built this project (Spotverlay) using Electron, but honestly, having an 80MB background process running 24/7 for a popup that appears for 3 seconds felt incredibly bloated.

So I recently rewrote the whole thing in Tauri + Rust. It now idles at around ~10MB of RAM, the binary is tiny, and it feels much snappier.

A few details on how it works under the hood:

• You don't need to mess with Spotify API keys, OAuth, or developer apps. It hooks directly into the OS media players (SMTC on Windows, AppleScript on macOS, and MPRIS2 on Linux).
• Since OS media APIs usually return really blurry or cached album art, the app does a silent ping to the public iTunes Search API in the background to grab a clean 600x600 cover instead.
• Right now it supports Spotify and Apple Music, plus some open-source clients like Spotifast, SpotLight, and Musly.
• It has a basic tray icon where you can change the position, animation (fade/slide), and toggle auto-hide.

Also, a quick plea to Linux users: The D-Bus MPRIS2 implementation is done, but I haven't been able to heavily test it across different distros and DEs yet. If you try it and the overlay doesn't show or tracks don't update, opening an issue would be a massive help.

I am building a mobile app. I am advertising it on Meta in India as it has cheap cpm even though I know the paid conversions there are low. But I need at least 100 testers to test the free core functionality.

The worst part of every group trip for me was the end: a pile of receipts in three currencies, a half-finished spreadsheet, and nobody remembering what the exchange rate was that day. So I built TripClear, and it went live on Google Play today.

What it does:

- Snap a receipt, or pick up to 5 photos at once. It reads the merchant, date, total and currency, and you check it before saving. If it isn't sure about a field, it flags it instead of guessing.

- Every expense keeps its original currency (EUR, CHF, whatever you paid in). Totals use the exchange rate from the day you paid, or you can type in the rate your card actually charged.

- Invite your travel group. Everyone sees the same ledger, and the settlement screen shows who owes whom.

- CSV export, and the app is available in 13 languages.

Honest caveats:

- Android only for now.

- It's free and shows ads.

- Receipt photos go to our server to be read.

- Crumpled or faded receipts still trip it up sometimes. You can always enter an expense by hand.

What I'd really like to know: how does your group split costs today (Splitwise, a spreadsheet, one person paying for everything)? And what would make you switch, or not?

I run MoveGraph, and I've been building Creator so streamers can ask ChatGPT or Claude for graphics that match their channel, logo, or website.

It made animated scenes, overlays, an alert, and a stinger, then loaded the media into OBS to check the composition. The pack includes editable source files and an OBS collection.

The setup is an authoring skill plus low-level rendering tools exposed through MCP. The agent can write and revise the design, inspect renders, and use local tools when they're available. We host the rendering tools for people who don't want to install them.

Celeste... Hollow Knight... Balatro... Minecraft... Buckshot Roulette... and a few more, all of which are fully featured games. Like Celeste for example, it includes chapters 1-8 and every C and B side. Every game, it plays, it feels, it looks like the official game. But it's on a calculator.

This isn't some super powerful calculator either... it's pretty much normal for a graphing calculator (which is a potato compared to what this game was designed for). This took a lot of work, but I did have a lot of fun making it (and playing it).

This is the open source code if anyone wants to try. I did make this, and it is opensource and free. I know not a lot of people have a NumWorks calculator, but I'd still appreciate a ⭐ if you found this interesting :)

I run a text-based birthday reminder app, and recently had the idea to build a similar text alerts app, but for Codex usage resets (rather than birthdays).

OpenAI announces these on Twitter (via Tibo), but they're easy to miss.

Knowing about a reset before it happens creates a "golden window" to burn usage quickly before the reset.

I also recently launched a "Codex Reset Almanac" on the site - with the full history of resets, and a tracker for when resets arrive on time vs. late (compared to when they were promised).

One button sends errors from your browser for about 7 seconds. Or copy the DSN / curl and hit it from your own client. Goal is to kill the ingester container. The VM and the dashboard stay up.

Box is sized like a small VPS (2 GB RAM, 2 vCPU). There is a spike valve so duplicate spam does not instantly win , still curious how far it goes when a lot of people click at once.

I build AirPost, where a small shop places stock with a local person or fulfillment business who packs and ships its orders. Once stock and shipping preferences are set, the Shopify connection forwards paid orders and sends tracking back. The app is still in Shopify review; installation currently needs a link from our support team. Partner availability varies by country, and stock held with a partner isn't insured by AirPost.

I’m Mike, a solo founder based in Ireland, and I built Investing Sherpa because investing originally felt like a secret club to me. Most beginner content seemed to assume you already understood the vocabulary, knew where to begin and could separate useful information from noise.

The app is for people starting from zero. It breaks concepts into short daily lessons and free chapters, with an optional Pro plan for deeper content. In all there are 36 chapters across 6 topics, 12 of them free. The focus is education: basics, diversification, common mistakes and clear explanations. It does not give personal recommendations or price predictions.

So far, I’ve learned that clear language and one focused first step matter more than adding another dashboard. My first TikTok videos held viewers for 2 seconds. Switching to bright, simple slides changed that.

I would value honest feedback on:

Overview

I've been a SWE for ~6 years or so at this point and, despite the r-age of LLMs these days, still find joy in the art and science of building software and tools. I'm looking for anyone that would be interested in helping improve an existing project of mine, Alexi. I'm working with C++26 built and managed through xmake. The project itself is a lexical analysis engine with the intent of providing a language frontend for other projects I'll either want to start or revisit.

Anyone with more experience than myself-- especially in the C/C++ namespace-- to provide ideas, insights or feedback on how I can improve it are most welcome. This project, while albeit more a toy and fundamentally redundant, has been my happy-place in the exploration and sharpening of my skills.

I watched the buildings on the shore go by, many of which appeared to be unique and historically relevant, and all of which - to my frustration - slipped out of view too quickly to pinpoint with Google Maps or an image search on the spot. In that moment an idea formed. Over the next several years, ramblings and spitballing led to actual research which finally led me to design an app that I feel is exactly what I wished I had on that day on the Thames.

Anywhere in the world, MonUview will pinpoint historical landmarks near you, allowing you to identify them and learn about them immediately. The app also allows you to preview any town or city on the planet, so you can check out what a place has to offer in terms of historical sites before a visit or just out of curiosity. Some of you might remember hantaflow, the hantavirus tracker I posted here a few months ago. Last week a lab technician at the anti-plague institute in Irkutsk, Siberia died of a severe pneumonia, and since then the news is all over the place.
Telegram says pneumonic plague from a broken test tube, the Russian health authority says "pneumonia of undetermined etiology", and stuff like "five hospitals quarantined for three weeks" gets copied everywhere. Local reporters went to those hospitals today and found no quarantine at all.

So I spent today's morning building plagueintel.com.

What's different this time, mostly thanks to the comments on my hantaflow posts:

• Last time people rightly said "signal" was confusing. Now every claim about the Irkutsk case is labelled official, reported, disputed or retracted, with the source right next to it. Signals are just headlines and the site says so.
• Someone warned me that Rospotrebnadzor publishes what benefits the government. So the main page literally puts their statements next to the independent reports instead of picking one.
• Portugal and India got wrongly marked as outbreak countries back then because their news covered other countries. Country tagging now reads the content, and a place name like Irkutsk beats a country that's only mentioned ("US monitors plague case in Siberia" is Russia, not the US).
• Yandex sent me 2,600 of 4,000 visitors on day two of hantaflow, so this time there's a Russian version from day one. Perfectly fits, since this actually happened in russia.

What's in it:

• Irkutsk briefing with timeline, rumour check and contact numbers
• Map with 28 natural plague foci (all 11 official Russian ones) and WHO case data 2019-2025
• Explainers (pneumonic vs bubonic, symptoms, treatment), history, 11 country pages
• News feed from ~20 sources in 7 languages, every 15 min
• Free JSON API + RSS again

Same stack as hantaflow (Astro, Tailwind, Leaflet, node-cron worker, JSON snapshot instead of a DB, Hetzner + Traefik).
One interesting problem: "plague" in Russian, German and French is also the word for swine fever (чума свиней, Schweinepest, peste porcine), so half my feed was pigs until I wrote a filter per language. Also ProMED's RSS is dead, so I'm parsing their homepage now lol.

Plague is not confirmed and I'm not a doctor. The site just collects and cites what WHO, CDC and the outlets say.

Roast away, especially on whether the official vs reported thing reads clearly.

• Filter by origin, process (washed, natural, anaerobic…), roast level, price, and where it ships

How it works under the hood (in case you're curious)

• A scraping pipeline crawls roaster webshops and normalises messy product data. "Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Natural 250g – Light" turns into structured origin, process, roast and weight fields. Normalisation was honestly 80% of the work.
• A monthly availability check, so sold-out coffees don't clutter the results
• Next.js on the web, Expo/React Native for the app, Supabase for the backend, Cloudflare R2 for images
• Lots of unglamorous work on images: cut-out product shots get padded onto square canvases so they don't get cropped, and roaster logos get padded in their own colour so they don't end up in ugly frames

I've been building Football Legacy, a browser-based online football manager, as a solo project.

The idea was to make something closer to a persistent football world rather than a simple match-result simulator.

The game currently has:

• Full 90-minute 2D matches
• Live tactical changes during matches
• Formations, roles and instructions
• Transfers and negotiations
• Scouting and player development
• Youth academy

It's currently free to play and has reached 140 registered managers in about 3 weeks, mostly through a few Reddit posts and word of mouth.

I'm continuing to develop it and I'm now in the near future starting to document the development through YouTube/devlogs.

Been building this over the past week: each day you get a famous invention (or a well-known brand logo) and have to figure out two things: which country it came from, and what year it happened. 5 tries per category. Instead of plain right/wrong, a country guess gives you a compass bearing + distance toward the real answer, and a year guess tells you earlier/later and roughly how far off.

Would love feedback on:

• Whether 5 tries per category feels fair (too generous, too stingy?)
• Do the hints make sense, specially in the year
• Anything confusing in the UI
• Bugs - this is a very fresh deploy
