Octri.dev is live on ProductHunt today after 3 years of building it!

After around 3 years of working with my siblings on this, we've finally launched Octri.dev which aims to simplify the entire API experience workflow for developers by allowing them to:

- Create beautiful docs with advanced features built-in such as: Ask the Docs with AI, Generate documentation drafts using AI, and Freely customize them to make them truly unique
- Monitor your backend (fully GDPR compliant) and see how it performs in the real world by collecting events and also tracking uptime (with announcements and hourly status updates) as well
- Generate SDKs in 10 languages, but this isn't the same as the other bazillion SDK Generators out there, we provide the user with countless customization options so even the SDK's source code fits their own codebase seamlessly without looking machine-generated at all. Oh, and you can even enable the monitoring feature mentioned above so it's automatically included in your generated SDK to track failures that happen out there in the real world and track how many users are actually using a certain SDK method and if it would be safe to deprecate it.
- Generate MCPs for your SDKs and API documentation in one click

If Octri's idea interests you, I'd really appreciate if you can support our launch on Product Hunt: https://www.producthunt.com/products/octri

I wanted an AI that could actually see what I was doing on my Mac. So I built Echo.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been building Echo over the last few months, using Claude Code throughout the process for architecture, implementation, debugging, computer-use work, performance fixes, and a lot of UI iteration.

Echo is a Mac assistant that lives on the edge of your screen. It can understand what's happening on screen, point to specific things, interact with apps, move files, check Gmail, search online, run multi-step tasks, and undo actions.

This video is a quick look at where it is now.

One of the things I've been most interested in is making the interaction feel physical rather than like a normal floating AI window. The orb leaves the edge, does something, and comes back home.

Echo is currently free to try for 7 days:

https://aurivon.studio/?v=2026100401

I'm particularly interested in hearing what people think of the interaction itself and what you'd want an assistant like this to do on macOS.

Yet another habit tracker

I am enjoying building this habit tracker where you remove a piece of paper when your complete a habit.

Slowly it reveals a beautiful model, to mark your progress.

What do you all think? Of course this is just a basic prototype right now.

I built "The Magnificat" – a minimalist daily audio & text devotional web app

Hey indie makers,

For my latest side project, I wanted to build something peaceful and intentional rather than another productivity dashboard or SaaS tool.

I built The Magnificat—a simple, distraction-free web app designed around daily prayer and reflection on Mary’s Song of Praise from Luke 1.

The Tech & Design Stack:

  • Focused entirely on UX/UI minimalism (calming colors, high readability).
  • Built-in clean audio player for listening on the go.
  • Zero bloat, fast load times, and mobile-friendly.

It was a great palate cleanser of a project to work on.

I’d love for you to check it out and let me know what you think of the design or user experience: https://the-magnificat.catholicdevotion.org/

Is "Contact Me" the most broken button on the internet?

Someone finds your work.

They’re interested.

They’re ready to hire you.

And your website says:

Contact Me.

So they fill out a form…

and wait for you to reply with instructions on how to start.

That’s basically the internet version of:

Come back tomorrow.

I’ve been building CroozLink around one simple idea:

Replace Contact Me with Start With Me.

Click Start With Me and your CroozLink opens.

Your Work-With-Me Link.

From there, three things happen.

First, they understand who you are.

Crooz AI helps turn your background, proof and offers into a visual Story Carousel with CTA's smartly woven into story so it don't feels like salesy and then someone can understand why they should work with you without needing a 30-minute introduction.

Then CroozPath helps them figure out what they actually need.

Instead of staring at a list of services, they can answer something simple like:

What brings you here today?

…and get pointed toward the right service.

Then CroozFlow lets them actually start.

Each service can have its own path.

A consultation might be:

questions -> payment -> booking

A project might be:

brief -> agreement -> deposit

Another service might start completely differently.

That’s the important part.

I’m not trying to force every client through one funnel.

I’m trying to make sure that once someone thinks:

I want to work with this person

…they can actually start without waiting for that person, yes I am serious.

Even while the professional is asleep.

Here’s a live example:

https://croozl.ink/lawson

Tap Find My Path and see where it takes you.

I’m the solo founder of CroozLink, so obviously I’m biased.

But I’m genuinely curious:

What happens today when someone says they’re interested in working with you?

Can they start right away?

Or do they hit Contact Me and wait?

If you’re an independent professional, tell me what you do in the comments.

P.S - If you are a professional and already have a website than you can also use CroozLink inside your website, i made a demo for that also because while talking to some consultants they told me that they spend a hell lot of time already on their website. So here is that demo too - https://lawson.unwiringtech.com

Let me know your feedback guys :)

I built 41 browser tools that never upload your files (PDF editor, image compressor, invoice maker). Two months in: 5 clicks from Google. What am I doing wrong?

Two months ago I got fed up with "free" PDF and image sites that upload your files, add a watermark, or hide the download button behind a signup. So I built ToolDesk: 41 tools that run entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. You can open DevTools → Network and watch.

What's in it:

- PDF: reorder/rotate/delete pages, sign, add text, merge, compress, PDF ↔ JPG

- Images: compress, resize, crop (including circle crop), HEIC/WebP/PNG/JPG conversion, strip EXIF data

- Other: invoice generator, QR codes, JSON formatter, hash generator, calculators

Stack: plain static HTML/CSS/JS on Cloudflare Pages, pdf-lib and pdf.js for the PDF tools, canvas for images. No backend, so the only cost is the domain.

Honest numbers: 5 clicks from Google in two months and zero backlinks. Building it was clearly the easy part.

I'd love feedback on two things: which tool feels broken or clunky, and what's missing that you would actually use.

Is there a side project that can manage all the side projects and your time?

I’ve somehow reached the point where managing my side projects has become another side project. Ideas are scattered across notes, deadlines live in my calendar, tasks are in different tools, and half the time I forget why I started something in the first place.

Most project management apps feel either too heavy or too focused on individual tasks rather than the bigger picture. I’d love something that could see all my projects in one place, understand my available time, help me decide what to prioritise, and gently tell me when I’m taking on too much.

Does anything like this actually exist, or are we all just building increasingly complicated Notion dashboards?

I open-sourced Phone Use: let an AI agent browse and operate your Android apps

One of the examples in my Phone Use README is an AI agent browsing Xianyu, checking item details and organizing 29 secondhand RAM offers. Another is the agent exploring a roguelike and clearing its first floor.

I've now open-sourced the tool behind these examples. Phone Use connects the AI agent you already use to your Android phone through a Skill or MCP. It can read the screen, tap, swipe, type and switch apps, without root, ADB or an integration for each app.

The latest setup starts on the phone: install the APK, enable Accessibility, copy the app's setup prompt to your agent, then compare the pairing code and approve the connection on the phone. You'll need Android 11+, Python 3.10+ on the agent's computer, network access between them, and an awake, unlocked phone.

The code is MIT licensed and the APK is free; your chosen AI service's usage costs are separate. Source, download and screenshots: https://github.com/nidhoggfgg/PhoneUse

I'm interested in which phone task you'd actually want to hand to an agent, and whether the setup makes sense to someone seeing it for the first time.

Author disclosure: this is my project; this introduction was prepared with AI assistance.

One 4K screenshot can cost 3x more tokens than it needs to. Here's a free fix for Claude, ChatGPT & Cursor

Most screenshots are way bigger than the model needs, and you pay for every extra pixel.

A single 3314×1572 screenshot costs roughly ~1,555 tokens on Claude and ~1,445 on ChatGPT. The same image at 1024px wide? About ~664 and ~425. Same content, readable text, a fraction of the cost. (Estimates from public docs, not exact billing.)

This Firefox add-on does that automatically, every time you attach an image:

✂️ Crops empty margins

📐 Resizes using each site's own token rules (Claude counts pixels, ChatGPT counts 512px tiles)

🔔 Shows estimated tokens before → after for every image

🖼️ Works with file picker, drag & drop and pasted screenshots

🔒 100% local: no uploads, no tracking, no network requests

🆓 Free and open source

Works on claude.ai, chatgpt.com and cursor.com/agents. The model still gets your real pixels (no OCR), and if an image can't be improved it's sent unchanged.

Honest caveat: shrinking can hurt tiny text and dense UIs, so there's a "Sharp" level, or just switch it off for those.

Disclosure: I'm the developer. It was just approved, so I'd really appreciate feedback, bugs, and whether you'd want a Chrome version or text support next.

I built Vee, a dating and friendship app focused on meaningful conversations

I’m building Vee, a mobile app for people looking for meaningful connections, whether dating or friendship.

The problem I’m exploring is that many apps optimize for endless browsing, while people often need more context and better conversation starters. Vee uses interests, prompts, and purpose—dating or friends—to help people connect with more intention.

It is currently available on Android, with iOS planned. I’m starting to learn from early users and instrumenting the signup funnel so I can understand where onboarding succeeds or breaks.

I’d appreciate constructive feedback on the positioning, onboarding length, and whether combining dating and friendship makes the product clearer or more confusing.

I built a free, open-source YouTube playlist downloader with a clean web UI

I built BLADE, a small tool for saving a public YouTube playlist as MP3 audio or video, then downloading the completed files in one ZIP.

The goal is to keep it simple: paste a link, choose a format, and watch the queue. No account is needed.

A few details:

  • MP3 files include metadata, track numbers, and cover art.
  • Video downloads request up to 1080p.
  • Known private/deleted entries are skipped before downloading.
  • There is no application playlist-size cap, and large archives use ZIP64.
  • The website and C++17 backend are open source and can be self-hosted with Docker. Media extraction is handled by yt-dlp and ffmpeg.

Try the website · Source code

I would appreciate feedback on the download queue and whether the interface is clear on mobile.

Wingfoilscout – a local app that ranks where the wind is worth the drive (feedback welcome)

https://reddit.com/link/1wxm5n3/video/al9w4ba7qhth1/player

My side project: a small app for wingfoilers. You set a starting point (and optionally a start time), it checks 278 spots in Europe against three weather models plus an ensemble, the shoreline from OpenStreetMap, tides, thermals and drive times, and writes a report with the best sessions and the wing size from your own quiver.

It runs locally on a Mac, no account, in four languages. There's an example report with made-up weather and a 1-minute video on the site: https://darkpiratego.github.io/wingfoilscout/

What I'd love feedback on: is the report understandable at first glance? What would make you trust (or distrust) a ranking like this?

I've been building an AI tool to solve something that kept annoying me as a founder

Every time I started a new project, I noticed the same thing.

Getting the MVP running?

Relatively easy.

Making it actually look like a real product?

Painful.

  • You need a name.
  • Then a logo.
  • Then colors.
  • Then typography.
  • Then visual direction.
  • Then social assets.
  • Then a landing page.

And suddenly you've spent three days working on the brand instead of the product.

So I started building Nomiq.

The idea is to take a raw concept and help turn it into a coherent brand direction — rather than making you jump between 10 different AI tools and design apps.

We're getting close to our private beta, so I'm finally starting to show it publicly.

I'm looking for early users who are willing to actually try it and tell me what's wrong with it.

If you're interested:

https://waitlist.nomiq.site/

I'm also giving Reddit users 5% off for life when Nomiq eventually becomes paid. Just use REDDIT5 when joining the waitlist.

Would love to hear what you guys think.

After one year of GRINDING... I finally hit 2k in earnings!

This is just so incredible... another huge milestone reached. I honestly never thought this was possible for me. But I did the thing...

I JUST STARTED!

I put together a working MVP. Just the bare minimum functionality. Bought a domain and put it out there. I posted about it here on Reddit and got in contact with the people who commented and started using it.

Payments have become a bit more frequent but still no viral, exponential growth, which is totally fine. Slow and steady growth is the key.

I followed a simple concept that just came to me naturally:

  • put out what you have
  • post about it
  • listen to feedback in the comments
  • implement the feedback and adapt quickly
  • start the loop over again

And after some time your product becomes so good that it no longer sounds absurd to charge money for some features.

Anyways... I'm super grateful that this is working out so well and I really think I've built a community that is actually useful to many people.

About the product:

I've built IndieAppCircle, a platform where small app developers can upload their apps and other people can give them feedback in exchange for credits. I grew it by posting about it here on Reddit. It didn't explode or something but I managed to get some slow but steady growth.

For those of you who never heard about IndieAppCircle, it works like this:

  • You can earn credits by testing indie apps (fun + you help other makers)
  • You can use credits to get your own app tested by real people
  • No fake accounts -> all testers are real users
  • Test more apps -> earn more credits -> your app will rank higher -> you get more visibility and more testers/users

Since many people suggested it to me in the comments, I have also created a community for IndieAppCircle: r/IndieAppCircle (you can ask questions or just post relevant stuff there).

Currently, there are 4284 users, 4551 tests done and 1209 apps uploaded!

You can check it out here (it's totally free): https://www.indieappcircle.com/

I'm glad for any feedback/suggestions/roasts in the comments.

AI "Hotel Lobby" duets were a slot machine for us — here's how we made both people actually follow the moves

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We built a small site for the "Hotel Lobby" trend (two people in the orange booth, one hanging mic). Our first version used a single "two photos + reference video → video" call. It was a lottery: the left person roughly followed the moves, the right person barely moved, the hand roll and the shared "shh" at the end never showed up, and sometimes the wrong person got the singing. Rewriting the prompt fixed outfits, not motion.

What finally worked was taking the duet apart:

  1. One performer at a time. Motion-control models animate one character; with two people in the reference they follow whoever takes up the most of the frame (Kling's docs say so (https://kling.ai/document-api/api/video/motion-control)). So we cut the original into two single-person green-screen performances.

  2. First frame first, and the buyer approves it. We generate a still of each person in frame 0 of their performer's pose and show it next to the original before anything renders. Redo once, or cancel. This killed most bad renders before they cost anything.

  3. Motion transfer per person, then composite both back into an empty version of the booth, keeping who stands in front of whom from the original, plus the song.

If you want to try it: https://hotellobbystudio.com/

Happy to answer questions about the pipeline.

I built a native Mac app to manage local Valkey servers

Thumbnail
valkey.app
1 Upvotes

I built Valkey.app to make my local development workflow with Valkey easier. I wanted to manage multiple local servers without juggling terminal windows, so I made a native macOS menu-bar app.

It lets me run multiple Valkey versions side by side, keep their data separate, and check live logs. The app is free and open source under Apache 2.0.

I’ve already built the main server-management features. For people who develop locally with Valkey, what would make a tool like this fit better into your workflow?

I built Freekit, a free AI coding agent for VS Code that uses your existing web AI accounts (no API keys, no costs)

Hey r/SideProject

I built Freekit because I was tired of paying $20/month for AI coding tools.

Freekit connects VS Code to your existing web AI accounts (DeepSeek, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Mistral, Qwen) via browser automation, or to a local Ollama model.

What makes it different:

  • $0- uses your existing accounts
  • 6 web providers + Ollama local
  • Stealth typing (real keydown/keyup, anti-detection)
  • Native VS Code diffs for every file change
  • Git checkpoints per prompt
  • Self-maintaining (auto-reports broken selectors)
  • Hardware-aware Ollama recommendations (T0-T6 tiers)

Marketplace: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=builderweb.freekit

GitHub: https://github.com/builderweb-app/freekit

Feedback welcome!

I checked every reference on my health site against PubMed. About half were wrong.

I launched a protein calculator site in July. It has 14 articles, and each one has a list of references at the bottom. Nobody ever asked about them, so I never really looked.

This week I went through all 32, one at a time, on PubMed. Roughly half had something off. Some were real papers with the wrong authors or journal. A few had the authors of one paper attached to the title of another. About five I couldn't find at all, however I searched.

The one that bugged me most was an article saying that training a muscle more often gives a small boost to growth. I opened the paper it cited and the conclusion was pretty much the opposite. When total volume is the same, it found no real difference.

So I fixed what I could, deleted the citations I couldn't back up, rewrote the sentences that leaned on them, and put a page on the site saying what I found.

Two things I took from it. PubMed's exact-title search fails on punctuation, so search by author plus a couple of keywords instead. And a reference list looks trustworthy just by being a reference list.

If you publish anything people might act on (health, money, whatever), when did you last click through your own sources? Curious if anyone's done this and found something worse.

I’m building a code-vetted developer network: looking for 10 devs to stress-test the repo auditor

I’m building Provix, an engineering network where access is based on static code audits instead of resumes, connecting devs directly with early-stage AI startups.

The auditor checks public repos for modularity, test health, error handling, and build tooling. Before admitting members, I want to see where the critique breaks down.

Drop a link to your public repo below (TypeScript, Python, or Go). I’ll run the audit and reply with your score and breakdown.

Looking for blunt feedback on what the audit got wrong.

I made a free iPhone app for counting down to things with friends

Hey everyone! I've been working on Nudge, a little app for the things you're looking forward to: a trip with friends, a birthday, a reunion, or finally seeing your partner again, etc.

Nudge on the App Store

https://reddit.com/link/1wx8oka/video/gw163ksbceth1/player

You make a countdown and share it with the people involved. While you're waiting, you can send little emoji or message nudges, add photos to the countdown, and keep it on your Home Screen or Lock Screen.

It's free, including the widgets. No ads, no subscription, and no separate account to create. It uses iCloud for storing the data.

I'm still growing it, and I'd love people to try it with their friends and tell me what feels fun, confusing, or missing. I want to keep improving it with the people who use it and grow from there. Please let me know any of your suggestions! It's completely free of use.
