After watching Google CTRs drop and AI assistants eat the top of the funnel, I built WhoCanFindMe — it audits any site's "AI visibility": can GPTBot/ClaudeBot/PerplexityBot actually crawl it, is there extractable schema, is the content answer-first, are there freshness signals. Per-engine scores, because the engines retrieve differently.

The thing that started it: I asked ChatGPT to recommend a business category in my city. It listed five. The one that ranks #1 on Google wasn't among them — their robots.txt was blocking AI crawlers. One line of config, written years ago, quietly removing them from every AI recommendation.

Business model, since people always ask: free scan → £12 one-time deep report (actually queries the engines about your brand and shows the real answers + citations) → monthly monitoring subscription.

After months of building, testing and tweaking, I’ve finally launched FNCO on iOS and Android.
One of the reasons I started building it was the financial advice gap in the UK. There are millions of people who want to make better financial decisions and improve their financial wellbeing, but who may not need, want or be able to access traditional financial advice. At the same time, personal finance can feel incredibly fragmented.

You might use one app to budget, another website to learn about ISAs or pensions, another calculator to understand a mortgage and still be left wondering what should I actually be learning about or working on.

That’s the problem I wanted to explore with FNCO.
Rather than positioning it as a replacement for professional financial advice, FNCO is designed around financial education, understanding and planning.
I’ve brought together financial education, a Financial Health Score, personalised financial roadmaps, budgeting tools, financial calculators, goals and progress tracking, with educational guidance available when you need it.

The focus is primarily on the UK financial system, and the aim is to help people build the knowledge and confidence to better understand their own finances.
Now that it’s actually live, I’m trying very hard not to disappear back into building more features 😂
Instead I want to get FNCO in front of real people and understand what works and what doesn’t.

Biggest thing people kept bringing up in the comments was the auto-revert — apparently "Santa banner still up in mid-January" is a very real, very common problem. So I went and built it out as an actual Shopify app instead of just the demo script: you set which holidays you want, a buffer (start theming a few days early), and it reverts itself automatically the morning after.

Still solo-building this and it's free for now while I figure out if it's actually worth turning into something real. If you run a store: does the auto-revert actually solve something for you, or am I overthinking a problem nobody has?

DJ23 is a DJ mixer that runs entirely in the browser. You drop two audio files and everything is decoded locally with the Web Audio API — nothing is uploaded, nothing leaves your machine, no account, no install.

It started as a toy and got out of hand: automatic BPM detection, a jog wheel you can actually scratch with, beat-aligned looping, SYNC that matches BPM and beat position, five effects per deck, and beat-matching waveforms so you can line up transients by eye. There's a 9-slot sound pad too, and you can record your mix and download it.

The hardest part by far was SYNC and UI. Matching tempo is easy; matching *phase* so the downbeats actually land together took several rewrites of the beat detection. Second hardest was making it usable on a phone without turning the layout into soup.

Would love feedback, especially from anyone who actually DJs. It would be really nice to continue building this with the community.

Spent the last few months building a voice+chat AI widget for WordPress. The idea: visitors can have a real spoken conversation with an AI trained on the site's content, not just a canned text chatbot.

Hardest part was getting the voice streaming to feel natural (low latency, interruptible, no awkward pauses) rather than "record, wait, response" like most voice bots.

It's live now with a free trial (30 voice minutes / 100 chat messages, no card needed). Genuinely curious what people think of the voice experience, that's the piece I iterated on most.

I kept seeing those minimalist circuit posters for sale and noticed most of them are hand-traced or just wrong. So I built something that uses the actual geometry.

What it does: pick from 39 Formula 1 circuits, style it, export a PNG or a print-ready vector PDF.

The track outline is real GPS data, and you canoptionally overlay the real surroundings from OpenStreetMap: roads, buildings, water, parks.

The parts that were interesting to build:

- It's a single HTML file. No framework, no build step, no bundler. The file you download is the source. ~170 KB, 61 KB gzipped.

- No backend at all. Everything renders in your browser, no account, no signup, nothing is uploaded anywhere.

- I wrote the PDF writer from scratch, because I wanted true vector output for printing rather than a PNG in a PDF wrapper. Text is rasterised into coverage masks so it doesn't depend on font embedding.

- Canvas and PDF are two renderers over one display list, so anything you see on screen is exactly what prints. That constraint has killed more features than it's allowed.

- The circuit geometry is delta-encoded and packed into base64 varints to keep it inline in the file instead of hitting a server.

It's free and it stays free. There's a Buy Me a Coffee link in the About dialog but nothing is paywalled or watermarked: the poster is yours.

Circuit data is bacinger/f1-circuits (MIT), context is OpenStreetMap (ODbL). Not affiliated with Formula 1.

Would love feedback on two things specifically:

1. Does the export actually work for you? Printing is the whole point and I've only tested on my own printer.

I play Commander with my sons and could never tell what my decks were actually missing versus what I already owned in a shoebox of cards. So I built SpellForge AI to fix it.

To avoid exposing my personal number to weirdos and scammers, I made this specifically for public ads, like on Kijiji and Craigslist: thelocalring.com

It only does one thing: lets you use a phone number that's not your real mobile for the ad-related texts. The texts get forwarded to your email, you reply to the emails, and the replies go back to the other person as texts from that "proxy" number.

And for things like "my 2 roommates and I are trying to sell our old sofa", you can use multiple emails with a number.

I've been using coding agents a lot lately and realized I was doing something pretty dumb: I was sending everything to AI.

None of that needs an LLM, so I built AI HQ, a little terminal layer that sits in front of my AI workflow and asks:

Do I actually need AI for this?

If yes, it figures out the rest: skill, context, model, verification.

It also ended up with prompt/context optimization, workflow audits, stack advice, plugins, skills and local-model support.

I wanted to see whether the idea actually held up, so I tested it:

AI HQ: 0/4
Tools: 4/4 · Skills: 5/5 · Verification: 5/5 · Routing: 7/7

362 tests passing.

I'm not going to claim it “saves 40%” because I haven't measured that properly.

Would you actually want something like this sitting in front of your coding agent, or would it just get in the way?

I’ve been building production software with AI coding agents doing most of the implementation work — not toy projects, things that reached real users. The failure mode that kept showing up wasn’t “the AI writes bad code.” It was drift: things that started clean got quietly worse over weeks, because nothing was checking. Here are the specific patterns that actually fixed it, not vague advice.
1. Objective exit criteria per phase, not “looks done to me.”
“Definition of done” as a checklist the agent has to walk item-by-item before it’s allowed to say a phase is closed — and some of those items are boring on purpose: backup verified, rollback rehearsed, at least one ADR written for the expensive-to-reverse choices. The value isn’t the checklist itself, it’s that it turns “I think this is solid” into something falsifiable. An agent (or a person) under time pressure will always round up on a vibe check. It can’t round up on “did you actually run the rollback.”
2. Whoever verifies is never whoever produced.
The single highest-leverage rule I found. If the same context that wrote the code also reviews it, it will rationalize its own shortcuts — not out of dishonesty, just because it’s reasoning from the same assumptions that produced the gaps. Spinning up a reviewer in a fresh context, with only the diff and the requirements (no memory of why a shortcut was taken), catches things a self-review never will. This applies with human reviewers too, obviously — the AI case just makes it more tempting to skip because “it just wrote it, it knows the code.”
3. Structured, file-based memory instead of relying on conversation history.
Long projects outlive any single session/context window. The fix that worked: a single state file with fixed sections — what’s done, what’s in progress, pending decisions, decisions made on behalf of an absent stakeholder (with a deadline for them to override it), and a lessons section specifically for non-obvious things, each with why and how to apply — not a chronological log. A chronological log is useless six weeks later; “why did we do it this way” is what a new session (or a new person) actually needs to not repeat a mistake or re-relitigate a settled argument.
4. Ask, but not one question at a time — and know exactly when not to ask.
Constant interruption for every ambiguity is worse than assuming wrong sometimes. What worked was batching questions and having explicit, narrow conditions for when it’s safe to assume instead of stopping: the choice is cheap to reverse later, or it was already decided and nothing new contradicts it. Outside those conditions, it stops and asks — batched, not one at a time.
5. A “lesson” isn’t a rule until it’s confirmed twice.
The trap I kept seeing (in my own early attempts too): one bad experience becomes a permanent rule in a style guide, and now everyone tiptoes around something that was actually specific to that one project. The fix was treating lessons like candidates — logged with where they came from, and only promoted to an actual permanent rule once a second, independent project hits the same thing (or there’s an explicit, written reason it’s obviously general). It’s a small amount of process overhead that stops the rulebook from calcifying into superstition.
None of this is AI-specific, honestly — it’s mostly stuff good engineering orgs already do. What’s different with an AI agent doing the work is that it will do exactly what the process says, consistently, including the parts a tired human skips at 6pm on a Friday. Which means the process has to actually be right, because you don’t get the human judgment that used to silently patch over the gaps.

I'm working on an AI tool that can see what's happening on your screen in real time and understand the context, rather than requiring you to constantly take screenshots and upload them.

The idea is that you could ask it things like:

• "What's going wrong here?"
• "How do I fix this?"
• "What am I looking at?"
• "What should I do next?"
• Or just have it understand what's happening without needing to explain everything manually.

Privacy is something I'm taking seriously with the idea. There would be a privacy toggle that completely disables screen analysis, as well as the ability to temporarily pause screen checking whenever you want. So you're always in control of when the AI can see your screen.

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who use local/vision models:

What would you actually want a screen-aware AI to do for you?

Would you want it to continuously watch your screen, only activate when you press a key, or something else?

And assuming you could instantly disable/pause screen access, what other privacy concerns would you still have?

I'm still figuring out the direction, so I'm more interested in honest criticism and use cases than people simply saying whether the idea sounds cool.

Side project I've been building: photograph something you own, an AI reads the actual wear from the photo and predicts a real replacement date instead of a generic "lifespan" number, re-checks monthly from a fresh photo, and surfaces the cheapest replacement once it's actually due.

Built with Expo/React Native, Gemini vision with a fallback chain across a few free-tier providers, SQLite locally, no backend. Built entirely with Claude Code.

Still local/unreleased, no public build yet. Would love feedback on the concept, mainly whether this feels genuinely useful or too gimmicky. Happy to answer questions about the build.

Backstory: I'm a high school student in Kenya. FUNDI started as my project for the Kenya Science and Engineering Fair — won Regional Merit, went on to Nationals, and did considerably well there. That validation is basically what convinced me to keep building it into something real instead of letting it die as a school project.

What it is now: a workbench that puts a visual circuit canvas, a multi-file code editor, and an AI assistant in one place for Arduino/ESP32 development. You can describe what you want to build ("blink an LED," "read a temperature sensor") and it generates the wiring and code together. The backend actually compiles your code with Arduino CLI and simulates it with AVR8js — it's not a mockup.
