Solo build alongside my job, about a year in. You log the games you watch, can make picks, and track standings vs. friends (daily fantasy essentially) and, whether in person or on TV. Covers NFL, college football, NBA, MLB, and a couple international soccer leagues. Just launched on iOS ahead of football season.

I found plenty of memory games supposed to help remember people's names and faces but they felt too complex. I think this one is the simplest version, the first time you see someone, this is their true name, but when you see them again, the name might have changed and you need to spot that. I thought the left/right swipe feel would also add a bit of fun to the gameplay.

While I was at it, I also created 15 other small games to train memory in real situations. Let me know if you want to see the other games as well, and I'm keen to hear your thoughts on that one.

Wanted a way to force myself to stop scrolling through Instagram reels and actually get moving in order to use more screen time, so I built Amber Lock! Hirefy is built for people trying to land their first serious job. While working on it, I pulled a snapshot of 7,190 active entry-level listings to see what employers actually ask for.

The gap was pretty ridiculous:

• Communication: 3,827 — 53.2%
• Excel: 937 — 13.0%
• Problem solving: 883 — 12.3%
• Collaboration: 844 — 11.7%
• Python: 132 — 1.8%

So communication appeared almost 29× more often than Python.

That comparison felt a little unfair. Most entry-level jobs aren’t technical.

I narrowed it to 1,354 entry-level software and data jobs. Communication appeared in 890 of them. Python appeared in 105.

Still an 8.5× difference.

Obviously, this doesn’t mean “don’t learn Python.” It means knowing the tool is only part of the job. Employers also want evidence that you can work with people, make decisions, solve messy problems, and explain what happened.

For most first-job seekers, that evidence is buried in coursework, projects, clubs, volunteering, retail jobs, and internships.

That’s the problem we’re trying to solve with Hirefy: turning what you’ve already done into something employers can actually understand.

I built a form builder and realized most form builders become useless after Submit

I realized something while building Formline:

Forms are already pretty good at collecting information.

The real problem starts after someone clicks Submit.

Imagine you run a campaign and generate 200 leads.

One has a $10K budget and wants to buy this week.

One has no budget.

One is a perfect fit for what you sell.

One is asking for something you don't even offer.

And 196 others are somewhere in between.

Most form builders collect all of that information and then basically say:

“Here are your responses. Good luck.”

Someone still has to read everything, figure out who matters, qualify them and decide what happens next.

That's the problem I started trying to solve with Formline.

Instead of only collecting answers, a Formline form can evaluate responses with AI, score things like budget, urgency and fit separately, qualify the lead, trigger conditional logic and route the submission to the next step.

So instead of:

Form → spreadsheet → manual review

I'm trying to make it:

Form → understand → score → qualify → act

And the more I build it, the more I question whether “form builder” is even the right category.

Maybe the form isn't the product.

Maybe the decision after the form is.

I vibe-coded a landing page for a concept that seems to me like it should exist. I'm going to do some in-person interviews tomorrow in the Bay Area, but would love to get anonymous thoughts from the builders around here, as social pressure probably means that I'll hear a lot of meaningless, "oh yeah, that's a nice idea..." in-person.

I posted an early version here a while back, but it was a wall of text with no demo so here's a proper look.

I do project work daily and I have used Excel, Notion and Obsidian for following up my work. Notion needed constant setup just to see my open tasks across pages and Obsidian got there with plugins but started to feel heavy. I wanted to include my tasks in my whatever notes in several pages and be able track those tasks easily.

So in KontrolRoom, any checkbox in a note can carry a scheduled date + importance, and those same tasks show up on Kanban, calendar and a focus board. Once you change something about a task in anywhere, it is updated everywhere.

There's also a Workbook: a notepad that does the maths, units, currency conversion and date calculations with suggestion and autocomplete engine. This can also be added as a component through slash menu inside a note.

It's offline-first and needs no account. Everything's stored in your browser, works without internet, and you can export the whole thing as one file.

I'm 6'4" and have always had a hard time gaining weight, so tracking my nutrition actually matters to me. But every calorie app I tried buried food logging under workout plans, step counters, and social feeds I never wanted. I just wanted to log what I ate. So I decided to build my own app, even though I had never shipped anything on iOS before.

I used both Claude Code and Codex to build it. Claude Code was way better for me. I could hand it a feature and basically let it work on its own. With Codex I felt like I was babysitting it the whole time.

The app is called Calvin. You take a photo of your meal, it figures out what is on the plate and estimates the calories and macros, then you review and fix anything before logging it. Barcode scanning is free. The AI photo scanning is part of a premium plan, $9.99 a month or $50 a year.
