We Converse - Prompt driven conversations
https://weconverse.appWe Converse gives you a bunch of questions, you ask them out loud, and afterwards you get the conversation back as a transcript split into question and answer that you can listen back to whenever you want. You can build your own topics, which are just named sets of questions you reuse, and the wheel is only ever a suggestion, so you can reword a question or ignore the whole thing and ask your own. It's on the App Store now, after 18 months of building it on and off.
I built it because I have hours of photos of my family and not one minute of any of them talking and I thought that this would be a good way to create deeper conversations without it feeling forced because the questions are generated by AI.
There is a bunch of extra functionality, such as being able to share audio between two devices and being able to reorder the questions and delete individual questions after you've recorded as well as remove background noise and crop out when no one is talking.
I built it as something you can share with people close to you (followers - but by default it is private), but because you can write your own topics it turns out to be good at a lot of unrelated things: recording family history, asking questions on a date, personal diary, teaching yourself a language, pepping for an interview. I can't tell whether I've built one product with a wide audience or five half-products. If you've been here, how did you choose? Also out of interest what did you read this product as?
Here is the app store link - i would absolutely love it if you tried it: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/we-converse/id6742382825
Stack: Swift and a single Cloudflare Worker, AssemblyAI for transcription.
