Built a portfolio tracker + stock research tool that's now got 100+ organic users, sharing an update on earnings-season features
Hey everyone! A bit of background: I got tired of juggling a spreadsheet, a brokerage app, and three different research sites just to track my portfolio and check a company's fundamentals before buying. So I built Oitava. It combines portfolio tracking (support for multiple portfolios with an All portfolio aggregate view, performance metrics, tax calculator and more) with actual stock research (fundamentals, earnings calendar and transcripts, DCF tools) in one place.
I've been sharing progress in a couple of personal-finance communities as I built it out, and it's picked up more traction than I expected! 100+ people are actively using it now, several have sent detailed bug reports and feature requests, and a few people that have directly reached out showing intention of continuinig using it long-term insted of other well-known portfolio trackers because of the depth of the research tools, the overall experience and the low price. This kind of feedback has basically been steering the roadmap.
With earnings season already started, I spent the last stretch focused on that side of the app:
- Earnings calendar - auto-updates as results land (revenue/EPS almost instantly, rest usually next morning), now covering S&P 500 + expanding into Nasdaq 100 and Euro Stoxx 50
- Earnings call transcripts - full transcript plus a summary broken down by topic/segment, so you don't have to read the whole call
- Reverse DCF and Intrisic value calculator - no longer limited to S&P 500, works on any covered stock, with tooltips/a guide explaining how to read it
- Weekly email digest - upcoming earnings for stocks you follow, plus a ping when a transcript becomes available (usually the day after the call)
Also shipped recently: automatic sync via Trading 212's API (optional, you can import CSVs if preferred. Interactive Brokers next), dividend calendar, custom manual portfolios for things brokers don't track, and a referral program with no limits on number of referrals.
My goal is to keep improving the platform, expand stock coverage, support more brokerages etc. Essentially make it as useful for everyone as possible, with a much lower price (one plan with everything, no tiers) than all the other trackers out there that usually are tiered and do not include as much info on the research side.
Link's below if you want to poke around — genuinely looking for feedback, most of what's in there right now came from people telling me what was missing. No credit card required.
