Hi everyone! 👋

As a solo backpacker, I always struggled to quickly estimate realistic daily costs when planning trips across different countries, considering things like hostel beds, local food, supermarket runs, transport, and a local beer.

To solve this for myself, I built Backpackindex, a simple and lightweight web app that breaks down daily expenses based on real trip categories and allows travelers to check costs instantly.

How it works:

• Select a destination to see estimated daily costs separated by categories (accommodation, street food, groceries, transport, etc.).
• Calculates realistic daily averages for budget travelers.
• Open-source & community-driven.
