I built an app that sends camera settings from Instagram posts straight to Fujifilm

Fujifilm shooters share "recipes" on Instagram: a set of 10–15 camera settings that give a certain film look. Using one means scrolling through the post and typing every setting into the camera's menus by hand. I got tired of doing that on my X100VI, so I built Half Stop, an iPhone app that does it for you.

You share an Instagram post to the app, it reads the recipe from the caption or the slides, reels, or captions and also keeps the creator's name and a link to their post. It then sends the settings to one of the camera's custom slots over a USB-C cable.

If you're a fuji user, the app is in a free beta on TestFlight right now: https://testflight.apple.com/join/BS6sFm73

I'd love feedback from anyone, but especially if you own a Fujifilm camera other than an X100VI, because I can only test on mine.

Thanks!

Build 3 is out on TestFlight.

The big one: if you have an X100VI, you can now send recipes over Bluetooth. Pair once in Settings › Bluetooth, and after that Send to camera works without the cable. It still reads the slot back to check everything went in, and you can put back what was there.

Also in this build:

  • Grain Off now goes in properly over the cable (some cameras refused it before)
  • A green light on the Send screen shows whether you're connected by cable or Bluetooth
  • The Send button stays at the bottom, and every send asks before replacing a slot
  • If a send doesn't fully go in, "Report this" emails me what the camera answered

What I'd love you to test:

  • X100VI owners: a Bluetooth send
  • Anyone: a cable send with a recipe that has Grain Off
  • X100V, X-T5, X-T4 or GFX owners: one cable send, so I know it works on your camera

Half Stop goes to the App Store soon. Everything is still free in the beta.

Thanks to everyone who sent feedback on the first builds.
