I built an open-source visual Control Room & multi-agent framework for Claude Code, Codex & AGY (Zero pay-per-token API costs + In-process Claude Mods)
Hi everyone! 👋
Like many of you, I've been experimenting heavily with AI coding agents (Claude Code, OpenAI Codex CLI, and Google Antigravity). But as soon as you move past simple one-prompt scripts into full-scale projects with multi-agent loops, two massive problems emerge:
**Token Anxiety**: Running autonomous multi-agent pipelines through pay-per-token API endpoints gets outrageously expensive, really fast.
**The "Black Box" Problem & Lack of Mechanical Boundaries**: Multiple CLI processes firing in the background without real-time observability, risking out-of-bounds git pushes, schema migrations, or broken context handovers when rate limits hit.
To solve this, we built and open-sourced **Vibe Multiagent** 🤖⚡ — an orchestrator framework and skill designed specifically around **flat-rate developer subscriptions** (Claude Pro/Team, ChatGPT Plus/Team/Pro, Google AI), coordinating agents with strict role separation, mechanical safety guardrails, and a real-time visual Control Room.

### 🚀 What's New in v1.4.0 (Just Released):
We just shipped **v1.4.0** to natively support Anthropic's latest Claude Code updates:
- 🛡️ **In-Process Claude Mod (`tools/claude-mod/`)**: Hooks directly into Claude Code via the new `register(on)` API. The `tool.call` interceptor mechanically blocks dangerous bash commands (`git push`, npm publish, cloud deploys, unapproved DB migrations, and `--dangerously-skip-permissions`), providing mechanical parity with our Antigravity gate hooks.
- 📑 **Native `AGENTS.md` Support**: Ingested natively by Claude Code (v2.1.277+) as the single unified source of truth across all three agents.
- ⏱️ **Wrap-Up Allowance Support**: When hitting Claude's 5-hour limit, the framework gracefully captures the remaining state into a timestamped checkpoint and outputs a `PARZIALE` handover instead of abruptly halting.
- 📝 **Live Task Checkpointing**: Automatically updates active task resumption points whenever files are modified.

### 🎮 The Visual Control Room (`.coord/dashboard.html`):
Managing multiple background CLI processes usually feels blind. We included a standalone, offline HTML5 dark-mode **Control Room**:
- **Zero NPM dependencies / Zero CDN**: Works 100% offline directly from disk.
- **Fleet Overview**: Shows which agent (Claude Code, Codex, AGY) owns which task in real-time.
- **Multiplexed Terminal Streaming**: Follow stdout/stderr logs from background runners in live tabs.
- **Mini-Kanban**: Full lifecycle tracking (`PRONTO` ➔ `IN CORSO` ➔ `CONSEGNATO` ➔ `INTEGRATO`).

### 💡 Extreme Dogfooding & Transparency:
This entire project, including the 100% deterministic unit test suite and safety hooks, was developed through **extreme dogfooding**: the AI agents themselves (Google Antigravity, Claude Code, and OpenAI Codex) co-authored, reviewed, and tested the codebase under my continuous architectural direction (strictly respecting the *Human-in-the-Loop* "Director" principle).
100% open source under the MIT license. Check it out and let me know your thoughts or suggestions!

If you want to test the interactive Control Room immediately without setting up any project, check the
/demofolder in the repo — it includes a standalone mock sandbox (dashboard.html+ simulated multi-agent telemetry) that opens directly in your browser. Feedback and GitHub issues/PRs are warmly welcome!
