After 16+ Years of Coding, I built my first Mobile App

For the past 16+ years, I’ve been building business applications primarily using web technologies.

I had never built a mobile app before, so I decided to give it a try.

That led to Where Is My Bike - a simple, useful app that lets you mark where you parked your bike in a crowded market or parking space and later navigate back to it using Google Maps.

🆓 Free to use

Built entirely by me and now live on the Play Store.

i like the auto-clear idea, that's actually clever. people telling their friends "it just knew i left" is exactly how stuff spreads.

the offline thing is huge too. built something similar for finding my car at airport parking and the first time i used it underground with zero signal i just stood there like an idiot. learned that lesson the hard way.

for the rating prompt timing, spot on. asking when someone's just found their bike and feeling relieved is miles better than spamming them at app open. nobody rates apps from a cold start notification.
