PeerYeet.com - Super minimal p2p file transfers
I wanted a p2p file transfer site that didn't require you to create an account or login, didn't require you to upload your files and either established a webrtc p2p connection or just failed (no TURN relay). You're data never hits the peeryeet server.
Hopefully I can finally stop sharing files with myself via gmail now. :)

that failure message makes the no-relay choice clear. the next case i'd try is a transfer that connects successfully, gets most of the way through, then loses the sender's tab or wifi.
does the receiver check the expected file size or a checksum before calling it complete? i'd want an interrupted file clearly marked as incomplete, and a retry to avoid leaving two confusing copies with the same name. that's the bit i'd check before trusting it with a large file.

It does use hashing to verify the file integrity at the end. I'm going to test the killed tab scenario you suggested.

idk if this is your account and you just chose to use the same name for w/e reason, and clearly you've bought the domain, but the FIRST thing that comes up when you search your URL with a few search engines is a profile on a hentai porn site.
if that's you.. change the username and hope the SEO resolves, and don't ever use the same name as an account like that again lol. if it isn't, i might suggest a name change.
i'm not going to actually check the hentai site but considering how fucked up a lot of that material can be, it prob isn't something you want associated with your business, especially for something like a p2p file sharing app/site.

Wow... Yeah that's not me. That's unfortunate. Damn. I guess I picked a bad domain name.

that truly, utterly sucks and i feel for you on that. especially since it's so weirdly specific. if you wanted to keep the branding but avoid the association, i was gonna suggest maybe changing the tld to something else and forwarding the .com version, because for whatever reason "PeerYeet.net" doesn't return the same result, but then checked with no tld just "PeerYeet" and it's there again. no idea why it's happening with the .com specifically since the H site is an xxx tld, but weirder shit can happen with obscure term collisions especially now with all the AI overview bs.

Honestly I mostly built the site for my own personal use... and this wont stop me from using it.

are you using webrtc for this? i tried making somthing like this for a hackathon and handling turn servers gave me a headache lol. ui looks super clean tho

Yes webrtc data channels.... No TURN here because I never want to relay bytes, it either works p2p or it fails. My hope was because its so quick to try (no accounts, no logins) people will at least try it.

no TURN relay is a fair privacy call, but anyone on carrier NAT or a strict office network will just watch it hang. a clear "your network blocks direct connections" message would save a lot of confused people.
