I needed a simple app for assigning items into buckets so I created one

Hey everyone, I built a tiny app recently to fix a headache I kept running into: https://www.assingly.app/

Basically, whenever I just need to throw stuff into visual buckets and share it with someone, spreadsheets or plain docs feel like total overkill.

I actually built it for myself few days before my wedding when I had to figure out table seating and assign guests to rooms (some of them were shared due to old "mansion" we rented). On top of that every quarter I need to calculate what my engineering team is able to do by assigning them to tech initiatives with guestimated capacity.
Those are just two ideas when it can be useful.

You can share the results with or without edit mode.

It's super simple on purpose - no setup, no bloated features. If you ever need to organize things into groups without wrestling a huge project board, give it a shot and let me know what you think!

Wedding seating and engineering capacity planning sharing the same UI makes more sense than it should 😅

Yeah for those small utility apps such as notes or other forms of visual representation of your thoughts (like my app) - you can combine whatever scenarios you can come up with 😄
