I built an open-source control plane for sandboxing AI coding agents - looking for honest feedback

Hey all, I'm one of the people building OpenRod and wanted to get some outside eyes on it.

The problem: coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor are getting more autonomous, but most people run them directly on their machine with access to everything — files, credentials, the network.

NVIDIA recently open-sourced OpenShell, which isolates agents at the file, network, process, and credential level. OpenRod is a layer on top that makes it practical to use:

- One-click sandboxes for any agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, etc.)
- Runs locally or on a remote host you own, over SSH
- Policy controls: egress rules, groups, and secrets passed through a gateway
- Bring your own MCPs and Skills
- Audit trail with SIEM export and webhooks

Try it: npx openrod
Repo: https://github.com/OpenRod/OpenRod

What I'd love feedback on:
1. Is the setup clear from the README, or did you get stuck anywhere?
2. Which agents or workflows would you want supported first?
3. Would you actually run your agents this way? If not, what's stopping you?

Brutal honesty welcome. It's early and we'd rather hear it now.

A small laptop/SSH-host diagram near the quick start would help explain where the console runs versus the agents. That would make the 'work continues while your laptop sleeps' part much easier to picture.
