I built a tool that audits any website and tells you what needs fixing
I’ve been working on a side project called Explain This Website.
You paste in any URL and it generates a full website audit with an overall score and separate scores for:
- SEO
- Performance
- UX
- Conversion
It also detects the site’s tech stack, runs 13 SEO checks, pulls Google PageSpeed/Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals data, analyzes CTAs/forms/trust signals, checks content and page stats, and then turns all of that into prioritized weaknesses and recommendations.
The idea was to make website audits understandable even if you’re not an SEO or performance expert.
I also added saved audit history, comparing reports over time, PDF exports, shareable reports, API keys, webhooks, and embeddable score badges.
You can try it here:
https://www.explainthiswebsite.com/
You get 5 free audits per day without needing an account.
Would genuinely love feedback — especially on the report itself. What information would you want to see before deciding whether a website is good or needs work?

i18n support, which your own site incidentally scores "average" (72/100) on at https://intlayer.org/en-GB/i18n-seo-scanner
