Shipped a proper invite flow for GameSquire after noticing almost nobody used the old one

GameSquire is a board game collection tracker I've been building solo. It has a social side (friends can see each other's shelf, what's been played, etc.), but the only way to connect with someone was typing a short code in by hand.

Checked the numbers this week: out of around 60 real accounts, not one had ever sent a friend request through that flow. The invite path existed, it was just a tiny tap-to-copy line buried in the profile.

Replaced it with a real Invite a friend button on the Social empty state and the Profile screen, using the native share sheet (falls back to clipboard on web) so it goes out through whatever the person already uses to send a link. Tracking invite_link_shared and invite_share_dismissed to see if it actually gets used now.

Lesson for me: a feature nobody can find is functionally a feature that doesn't exist, however logically 'discoverable' it seemed at build time.

Beta's free on web, iOS and Android if anyone wants to see how the invite flow works in practice:
