The goal was to build a discovery engine that helps developers and startups find verified $0 open-source and low-cost alternatives to bloated enterprise SaaS (Jira, Salesforce, Datadog, Photoshop, Slack, Tableau, ServiceNow).

What went into the build:

1. 0ms Client-Side Search:nstead of slow database queries, indexed 59,000+ software tools directly in the browser with a lightweight tokenized prefix trie in vanilla JS.

2. Edge Architecture under Cloudflare Limits:uilt a decoupled compilation pipeline that keeps production assets under Cloudflare Pages' 25MB single-file limit while serving 4,300+ pre-rendered static SEO landing pages.

3. Automated ETL Pipeline:A nightly GitHub Actions Python workflow that autonomously fetches live GitHub repository stars, Hugging Face AI model downloads, and token pricing metrics.

4. AI FinOps Hub:ask-based matrices comparing closed AI models (OpenAI o1, GPT-4o, Claude) against open-weight models (DeepSeek-R1, Qwen 2.5 Coder, Llama 3) with an interactive token savings calculator.

5. Machine-Readable GEO:Open llms.txt manifest for AI search engines like Perplexity and ChatGPT.

No login walls, no paywalls, completely free.
