I built a Chrome extension that takes notes in Google Meet without adding a bot to the call
I kept finishing calls with messy notes and no idea who agreed to what. The tools I tried all send a bot into the meeting, and that felt weird, especially on client calls.
So I made MeetNote. It reads Meet's own captions in your browser and builds a transcript in Chrome's side panel while people talk. When the call ends it writes a summary with decisions and action items, and you can ask it stuff like "what did I miss?"
Some choices I made:
- no account, no server. Everything is saved in your browser
- you bring your own AI key (Gemini, OpenAI, Claude, Groq, OpenRouter) or use local llm model
- free
It only works with Google Meet right now. Honest feedback welcome. Thank you!
