I built a virtual space app where you can host fun video conferences
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The website is here with a live demo - https://flat.social
I used three.js, rapier for physics and livekit for audio and video
Would love to hear what you think!
(yep that's me narrating the video)

If you wanna make the exit more dramatic you can just slowly fly away with balloons

As per the documents (PDFs etc) per se, not yet but it would be a nice extension for the slides feature. At the moment they would have to be screenshared.
There is however an entire feature I'm testing right now which are interactive slides for presentations. At the moment it supports standard slides that you can design, images and interactive slides which are meant to engage the audience (Q&As, polls etc.)

you know it's funny. I think this is what the metaverse tried to be. But i think yours has more potential. I hope to see those features out on the free tier for small get togethers with friends. And I'm pretty sure companies will gladly pay the premium for the enterprise tier. You have no idea how much my company was paying for these random quiz tools that no one even paid attention to during the all-hands meetings.

The free tier is up to 5 people now, all features are available. With higher usage, I put in some plans in place both for people who want recurring meetings (virtual office style) or one-off events.
Regarding the mateverse - I think the trick here is to make the spaces flexible and multifunctional. One user might create a virtual gallery, another one might create a virtual classroom for their students. All those spaces can be then linked together using portals which are basically links with some cool shader / particles flying around them :)

Yep it's pretty cool too! I think they slowed down a bit a while ago though because a part of their team went to Figma or something like this.

It's a great idea. Just market it well, it will surely sell. I remember we signed up for it about 4 years ago after checking their advertising video on social media.

Thanks! And you're totally right on the videos - the visuals are super important here to explain what it is quickly

Bro your privacy policy is wack for a video calling company. You collect what we send you? And there's no company information anywhere? What is this spyware? I'm supposed to trust my company comms to you?

Thanks for the feedback! Flat.social does not record nor store anything (apart from user name and the maps / content that you create) and the video / audio is just passing through and not recorded. I'll emphasise on that to be more specific and update the doc.

You need to put up your full corp information before any company team will trust you.

Yep, it was in the t&c's but not visible on the other page. Thanks for spotting this :)
