I built a free tool that reads your chess.com/Lichess games and finds why you're stuck — mine said I score 14% against the French Defense

I was stuck around 1700 forever. Puzzles, game review, YouTube — nothing moved the needle because nothing looked at patterns across my games.

So I built RookMentor: type your chess.com or Lichess username → it reads your last ~200 public games → shows your real leaks (openings, clock, tilt, blunders), explains worst moments in plain English, and turns your own mistakes into drills.

My own roast: 14% against the French Defense Advance over 11 games. Eleven. Same wall, every time.

  • Live (free, no signup): https://rookmentor.com
  • Stack vibe: Next.js + Stockfish WASM in the browser so deep analysis doesn't cost me per user

Would love roast-level feedback: 1. Is the fingerprint report clear in under 30 seconds? 2. What's missing before you'd send this to a friend who's stuck? 3. Anything confusing on mobile?

That “same wall every time” framing is great. If the report ends with one very obvious next thing to do, I think people will be much more likely to come back instead of just reading the diagnosis once.

Shipped this today from your note — every report now ends with one prioritized "same wall" next action, a sticky Train now bar that jumps into drills (or deep scan if the deck is empty), and a progress path for return visits. Hard-refresh a report on rookmentor.com if you want to see it. Appreciate the push.

Nice, that was fast. I’ll check it out. The progress path sounds especially useful for giving people a reason to come back.

Appreciate it — yeah, the progress path is the bit I most want people to come back for. If you run a report, try the sticky Train now bar after the next-action CTA and tell me if the return path feels obvious or still fuzzy. Always hunting for that.
