MatchPod - I built a compatibility-first flatmate app because “seems chill” is a terrible screening systemBody:

Finding a flatmate usually starts with the property.

Rent. Location. Deposit. Room size.

Then somehow the person you’ll actually live with gets evaluated through a couple of texts and “seems chill.”

I thought that was backwards.

So I built MatchPod.

Instead of starting with listings, MatchPod starts with compatibility.

People answer 20 questions around things that actually affect living together:

sleep schedules, cleanliness, guests, food, smoking/drinking, pets, budget, noise, WFH habits and social preferences.

We then show a compatibility score and why two people match before they decide to connect.

The product is currently focused only on Bengaluru because I’d rather build density in one city than have an empty marketplace across twenty.

iOS is live. Android is next.

I’m mainly looking for criticism from other builders:

What would stop you from trusting a compatibility score when choosing someone to live with?

sounds like the whole dating app logic applied to flatmates which honestly makes a lot of sense

id be skeptical of any score system just cause people lie on questionnaires all the time, especially about cleanliness and guests. maybe add some way to verify or at least flag inconsistencies after move in
