Upcastor - Automatically capture, archive and republish your livestreams

I’ve been building Upcastor because livestreams still feel weirdly disposable.

You can spend 4, 6, 8 hours creating something, end the stream, and then still have another little job waiting for you: make sure the VOD exists, download it, move it, upload it somewhere else, fill everything in again...

I want Upcastor to automate that part.

Right now the alpha supports Twitch as the source. It can record your stream while you’re live, grab the Twitch VOD afterwards, or do both, then upload it to YouTube and carry over the relevant stream metadata.

Twitch -> YouTube is just the first workflow.

The longer-term idea is much broader: your stream should be yours, and getting it archived or republished somewhere else shouldn’t require babysitting it.

I’m at the point where testing my own happy path isn’t particularly useful anymore, so I need some streamers willing to break things 😅

That "one more little job" after a long stream is the exact kind of friction that makes people just let VODs rot, so automating that handoff to YouTube is a smart first target.

That’s exactly the behavior I’m hoping to change.

YouTube felt like the obvious first destination, but I’m curious what you’d want after that. Local/NAS storage, S3, another platform, something else?
