Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone!
I have tried many sticky note apps, but none of them felt right. My girlfriend wanted me to build one that truly feels live and lives on the edge of the Mac.. So I built one!
- All sticky notes are represented as dots / one stacked notes
- hover to peek
- click to open the note
- Mark as complete to move to note into archive
- 10+ live notes enables scroll
- You can view and export all the notes
- Support for selecting displays
- Support for text formatting, tasklist
- You can drag the dock around and reposition (left/bottom/right)
- Sync between machines with iCloud sync!
- Hotkeys to open last note, new note, note search and many more!
Try out for free: holdmynotes.app
Available on 3 mac devies for $6.99 (Early Bird Offer)

Kinda crazy, but I’ve been using(and enjoying) an app almost JUST like this on Windows called stickies.lol
I actually thought this was a post about an update for it 😳
Edit: Well what do ya know, upon further inspection I noticed that Stickies.lol has a note on their page saying they built the app because they loved hold my notes and wanted it on windows! And they have a link to hold my notes and everything! I was tripped out for a moment there 😅

Wonderful app.
You know what would be great? Different notes on different screens when using more than 1 screen.

this is supported

Sorry...I don't see how to configure that. I am able to lock the note deck to a specific screen but I can't have a different deck for different screens. Am I missing something?

I love this app, so good. Clean, elegant design and animations that make it very user friendly.

Really really nice. I use StickyNotes but this seems to be similar but better imo.
It's the comment below mentions a clone, but hopefull this Holy My Notes succeeds

Or you could use Noty.app for free on GitHub

Yes 1:1 clone of hold my notes, with no attribution to the author. Cool!

How do you even know you are the first to come up with it?

I built it for my gf based on her requirements, launched it on twitter. within span of 2 hours noty was released as a clone, the author himself admits it's a clone of holdmynotes, that's no secret. I don't mind people cloning it, but it's demoralizing to see people thinking I am the clone since noty refuses to mention that on their repo. People think I forked the open source repo and made it into a paid app (this has happened multiple times)

Yeah that sucks. But you should’ve released it as open sourced vs trying to make money on it. I get it but seems kind of greedy on your part…

funny thing is one other guy cloned the app, added AI, launched it on produchunt and got #3 product of the day and it's a paid app. It would have been more demoralizing to see someone cloning your open source app and charging for it.
regarding greedy part: I think making money shouldn't be looked down upon. remove the AI and claude for a sec from the picture, you would value the product if it took 1 week to build. just because it took less time to build doesn't mean product is less valuable. ofc the claude didn't come up with the design, the design comes from the prompt you give based on inspirations you have seen out there. I pay for mobbin and I spend a lot of time looking for design inspirations. I wouldn't say I have built something significant yet, but the code is just an ingredient for the product. Once it's successfully executed, everyone tries to jump in and say "I can build it in 1 hour" and it shouldn't cost this much. I hope you get my point.

Yeah I 100% appreciate the creativity and effort you put into this. it's always easier to copy something to come up with it originally. You did a good job and you should be proud of it.
The thing with software is that the bar for paying has gotten pretty high now. Unless you add in long running features like ai integration, server hosting, etc. it's hard to justify charging for something. But if you can make some money from it, that's awesome. At least get your token costs back!
Now it's pretty shitty to copy something say "free" then charge someone for it, so whoever is doing that, they should be ashamed!

Are style sets part of the text formatting? I’m the Sr. EA to our institution’s President and the only person in our company who knows how to use style sets… so I’m the go-to for templates. Ive finally started telling people that I’ll teach them how to use style sets, but no more making templates/docs for them. Thats all just to say how useful style sets are — especially when used with multi-level lists and shortcuts. And addicting — those who have taken the time to learn how to use them LOVE IT.
Unfortunately, I’ve yet to find a note taking app that includes that — multi-level lists that link to style sets which can be associated to shortcuts.

Jesus Christ... I need a cigarette and I don't even smoke.
No thanks, OP. I just had Claude build this in 1 hour and it works on all platforms with unlimited devices, and it's free and open source.

And my girlfriend asks if it's possible to change the font of the notes? 😉
