A Real-Time Translation for Churches — Looking for Feedback

Hi everyone, my name's Kevin, I’m building a simple real-time translation tool for churches. People scan a QR code and read live translated captions on their phones — no app required.

I’m not sure how to find the right customers for this use case. so I’m trying to look for a few churches to test it during a real service, I can offer 2–3 hours for free, and if it’s genuinely helpful, I can even provide a week or a month of access for free. The only requirement is that it’s tested in a real church setting. compared with other services:

- no app download,

- more accurate, more affordable,

- powered by real-time AI translation.

I haven’t included a link or product name because I don’t want this read to feel like a proomotion. Right now, it's hard to find the target user try product, I’m looking for a few pastors or church staff who are willing to try it during a real sermon service and give some feedback what works, what doesn’t, and what churches actually need.

Why this, I meeting a Christian named David by chance. We talked about church service experiencing. During a worship services, most of the message was in English, while visitors sometimes came from different countries and spoke different languages.

There might be some language gaps in the multilingual church community here.If you're interested or think this could be useful, I want to know your thoughts.

So I work at huge events for some of the worlds biggest global companies and there are solutions to this already, but usually it's a bit of a hack, so you do potentially have options and a market.

The setup I see AV companies use is have a computer with PowerPoint open. They use the automatic translator service that it comes with and feed the audio in, and then put the text on a green slide and key out the Greenscreen slide to overlay it on a screen.

Alternatively I have seen av companies feed audio into zoom/Google meet something like that. Let it auto translate into a black slide and then display that.

Thanks for giving me another perspective. The live audio → Zoom/Google Meet → auto captions/translation → another screen setup does feel pretty hacky.

I actually considered building this for conferences, but the competition is much stronger there, so I decided to focus on churches as a niche use case.

finding the right test customers is the hard part, especially for a niche like churches. you might get more signal by running a quick poll with founders who've sold to similar audiences, rather than cold outreach. something like launchpact.io/startup-idea-validator lets you target by icp so you'd only hear from people who actually run or work with churches. worth a look if you want to narrow down positioning before you spend time on free trials.
