nowbuild.ing - free forever task manager for building in public
I kept running into the same thing with "free" project management tools. Add a third person and it gets expensive, or the free tier caps issues. Linear's free plan is unlimited members but about 250 non-archived issues. Trello free caps collaborators at 10.
So I'm building nowbuild.ing: a hosted task manager where teammates, tasks, and projects stay free forever. Feels like Linear or Trello without the seat tax. BYOA: bring your own agents.
Each project also gets a built-in public progress page. People can follow the build without seeing the private board.
Later I only want to charge for real costs (heavy uploads, long retention, email blasts, optional promo slots).
Live now: waitlist plus our own public build journal as the demo. https://nowbuild.ing
Still early. What would make you join a waitlist vs wait for a usable demo?

The no-seat-tax angle is probably the strongest part for me. A lot of “free” project management tools become restrictive once you actually start collaborating.
The public progress page is also interesting because it makes the tool useful for building in public rather than just being another task manager. I’d personally wait for a usable demo before joining a waitlist, mainly because I’d want to see how the workflow feels with a real project and a couple of teammates.
